Azature Black Diamond Nail Lacquer Swatches and Review

Azature Nail Lacquer

Azature is a brand that launched last year with something kind of crazy – the world’s most expensive bottle of nail polish which was $250,000 and had 267 carats of black diamonds inside!

But now you can wear Azature Black Diamond Nail Lacquer and pay MUCH less! They currently have thirteen shades available and each one contains one real black diamond in it.

I didn’t know what to expect from this brand since I didn’t know much about them. But I am really blown away by how amazing the formula and colors were. The formula is rather thick and incredibly opaque. Nearly just one coat each. The colors are super intense and pigmented, shimmery and amazing. The bottles are definitely not like any other shape I have seen either.

Azature Nail Lacquer-2
Azature Blue, Azature Green

Azature Blue
Azature Blue

Azature Blue was inspired by the blue diamond’s intensely hued shade, which symbolizes balance and inner strength.

This shade is such a pretty deep navy blue and filled with blue shimmer and holographic glitter. The holo glitter is mild, not a big in-your-face effect. It was incredibly pigmented and I really only needed one coat, but I did a super thin second one.

Azature Green
Azature Green

Azature Green was inspired by the green diamond, one of history’s most coveted gems, with astonishing depth and unmatched beauty.

This green is so much better in person than in photos. I took a zallion pics trying to get it right but it just doesn’t translate exactly. It’s a very bright green but also deep and rich. It’s just uber-glittery, shimmery and emerald colored. Amazing. I think it’s one of the best emerald green shades I have seen in a very long time. This was also thick, but not quite as thick as the blue one. I used two thinner coats.

One thing they warned me about was that Azature Green is so pigmented (designed for a celebrity manicurist to use on set) that it can stain. I used a base coat and still with it on just 10 minutes or less, I got a lot of staining. No biggie, it usually wears off me in a day.

Overall: I love these two shades! Not only is the formula really pleasing to work with, the colors are so intense and shimmery. I am definitely looking forward to seeing what else they come out with in the future.

Availability: Azature.

Pricing: $25.00 for .5 oz.

Ok so yes, it’s not $250,000 but still it’s $25.00 which is definitely on the high end for nail polish. Would you splurge on any of these or are they just too expensive for you?

Oh my gosh these are gorgeous! I might just have to treat myself to these!

      They are really great.

Very pretty colors, and glad to know about the staining… most times it doesn’t matter, but once in a while you have to go clean and bare-handed somewhere, right?

    Thanks for the awesome review.

These colors don’t impress me. I am curious to see the rest of their colors. But I would pass these up for other colors I have, so I couldn’t justify $25 a bottle

The colors are beautiful, but I wouldn’t give $25.00′s a bottle for them. Now if I had money to blow, then that would be a different story…LOL. I remember I think it was last year or the year before, Kelly Osbourne was doing some award show & during the interview she was showing off the $250,00.00 stuff they had given her a mani with. She was freaking out over the price of it. I’m thinking it was a black base with the crushed diamonds. Pretty cool concept either way.

If it stains my cuticles, I’ll pass.

    • June 12, 2013

My staining actually wore off after a shower, so it’s pretty easy to get it off after-all.

Azature Green looks really pretty, but it’s not particularly original. And I’m not a fan of staining.

I LOVE these polishes. I have the $25 version in black, the helper replica of the original black diamond manicure. I would love to own all the colors but to me this is till high end nail polish. I got the first bottle as a gift so I wont be buying any anytime soon myself.

These are both mind-blowingly gorgeous!! They look like they have so much depth to them. But sadly, $25 for a bottle is just too much for me. I feel bad when I spend $15! lol

    Oh gosh…I don’t think I’d ever spend $25 sadly.
What a bummer though — those two are gorgeous shimmers.

They must be quite the formula if they stained your nails so quickly!

Haha I just left a comment on your Instagram about this actually. I LOVE Azature. It’s quickly become one of my favorite brands actually and I have really good luck with removing them. I haven’t had issues with staining but I haven’t tried the green one, which is gorgeous on you. I think the bottle design gets extra points from me too.

I totally don’t understand the point of gemstone-infused polishes. Like, I make jewelry for a living. I love gemstones. And yet… this seems like such a waste of pretty stones.

Those are beautiful. I love the blue. But I don’t love staining especially since I wear my polish for a week. I’d worry.

I’ve never heard of these polishes before, and yes they’re quite expensive but to be honest I’d rather spend 25$ for these ones -for such a quality- than for any other high end/low quality bottle.

    That blue is stunning!

I love them both! These are absolutely STUNNING. But unfortunate that the price tag is too.

I’m always on the search for a good emerald green color. In the word of nail polish, emerald green is oddly a turqouise-ish color. So it’s frustarting trying to find a true emerald color. This green really is really, truely, dead-on. But I can’t justify paying $25 for it.

Although, I gotta say, I’m surprised to see a lot of people say ‘nay’ to paying $25, but yet so many people are willing to pay much more than that for a Lynnderella polish. I support Indie polish makers all the way, and I know that it’s more costly for them to produce polish than it is the bigger companies. But somebody please explain to me what makes Lynnderella’s polish so wonderful that they go for bids as high as $60 a bottle on Ebay? I’m not knocking the brand, I’ve never tried it. I’m just curious as to what makes this polish worthy of $60, and how is it any better than, say, Dollish Polish, or Girly Bits? At least I know Azture has black diamond in it to justify the cost.

  • June 17, 2013
