Cult Nails Dance All Night Macro

Why hello there!

I wanted to write this quick post to just get this out there I suppose. Nothing too serious, just glitter nail polish.

When I swatch glitter nail polish, I swatch it without any manipulation. What I mean by that is I don’t move the pieces around with a toothpick or anything else so that they are all laid out nicely and perfectly (unless I otherwise tell you I did). I don’t do that because I don’t feel that is truly representing what it looks like. I like to swatch a polish as it really applies – clumps, lumps and all because I believe the vast majority of people won’t sit there meticulously moving around pieces to get them perfect. Yes photos look amazing when the glitter is “just so” but that isn’t always how a polish applies.

So if you ever wondered why on earth your glitter polish doesn’t look as perfect as some of the stock or swatch photos you saw of it, it could be that they placed it where they wanted and played around with it a lot before taking the photo (or used Photoshop – stock photos usually are heavily edited). I have no issue with anyone who does that but for me, I want to be as transparent as I can so you can get a feel for what it really looks like when you just apply it “as is”, even if it’s a hot mess. 😉

So that’s that!

Have a great day!
