LORAC CC Cream Swatches and Review

LORAC CC Cream

LORAC CC Cream is new for this summer and it comes in three shades: CC1, CC2, CC3.

This CC Cream (Color Correcting Cream) is a six in one product that does the following:

  • Specially tinted to color correct redness, discoloration and imperfections
  • Red Seaweed naturally primes
  • Hyaluronic Acid moisturizes and helps diminish the appearance of fine lines
  • Vitamin C helps brighten
  • Aloe, Chamomile, Calendula and White Peony help soothe
  • Anti-aging antioxidants of Vitamins A & E, Green and White Tea help skin look healthy and youthful

You can wear it by itself or under a foundation if you desire more coverage.

LORAC CC Cream Swatch
CC1 (I think)

Ok so the weird thing is my tube isn’t labeled anywhere on it as to what shade it is. Could be because it’s a press sample and they hadn’t labeled it yet. I believe it’s the lightest shade CC1 though.

The shade itself once blended in works with my skin tone nicely. Blends right in, looks like a good match. But I had some issues with the finish. When I applied it over a moisturizer with SPF, as I always do, it did some weird texture things. First it seemed to settle into my pores and completely highlight them with dots of the color! Second, once I rubbed it in a bit, it started to ball up. Not good.

So then I tried it with nothing on my face and it worked out better. It blended in easily, no balling up, no weird texture. It does feel a little on the dry side to me.

All in all though it doesn’t really do much for me. Yes it hides pores and some red areas, etc. but it just kind of looks like a tinted primer that isn’t all that moisturizing. Plus I can’t wear it over my SPF moisturizer, so that is a huge negative for me personally.

Overall: Not completely won over by this. When used alone it does help my skin look slightly better, but it’s not moisturizing enough, doesn’t have enough coverage and no SPF. This is the third CC Cream I have tried and I have yet to be impressed much!

Availability: LORAC, Sephora, Ulta.

Pricing: $28.00 for 1.23 oz.

Have you tried a CC Cream yet?

I’m glad yo reviewed this. I was saw it advertised in the Ulta flyer and was considering it. I don’t like that you said it seems dry lol… now I know I’m not buying this.

Thanks so much for the review! What have you found that you can wear over an SPF ridden face? I’m still searching for my HG sensitive skin, huge pored acne prone friendly foundation and cc.

Pretty much any BB Cream works or foundation. 99% of the time I am wearing either the Skin79 BB Cream or Dr. Jart+ BB Cream. I just prefer them to foundation and they make my skin look and feel great!

Thank you for this review. I was tempted by a $16 pre-release promo that LORAC did, however they had NO swatches of the colors so I didn’t order, bur did e-mail them about this. I was surprised that someone from LORAC actually called me! Of course It was way too late to take advantage of their reduced promo price, so now I’m glad I passed.

Sounds like a miss. I use CC cream and I put my moisturizer on before the CC and its fine. Too bad because I like these CC creams.

I actually like this product but apply over regular moisturizer as have blemish prone skin. I switch between this and the pur minerals cc cream but prefer that brand as has SPF built in.

I’d like to know what percentage of women who try BB or CC like what they’ve purchased and find the coverage to be sufficient. I’ve tried a myriad of BB creams samples and a sample of a CC cream. At nearly 40 years of age, my skin still has too many imperfections to get proper coverage from these products. I’ve tried other things but, the only true success I’ve had and continue to have is via: MAC Studio Fix pressed powder buffed into my cheeks to cover rosacea-reddened skin, Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfector on my forehead & chin to give my forehead & chin a matte finish, and Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer patted under my eyes for dark circles & down the bridge of my nose to mattify the skin and cover the rosacea-caused redness. I do use liquid foundation when my skin is dry and do well with Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation with a very light dusting of MAC Studio Fix to set the foundation. Given my need to mattify my skin and cover the intense redness (I rarely use blush, enough redness comes through the Studio Fix powder that I don’t need it), the BB and CC creams don’t cut it for me.

This doesn’t sound too good. I like the fact that you mentioned it’s on the dry side, so this may be good for my oily skin. But I always wears SPF, and this doesn’t sound too good with that. Thanks for the review.

I’ve used two CC creams so far – It Cosmetics (love it) and Wei (just okay, a lot of waste with it). I get more coverage than I do with most of my BB creams.

I used some BB Cream that balls up on me too. I have been trying so many but, I think it was Loreal. And it was with a moisturizer as well. I thought I wasn’t letting the moisturizer sink in and was putting the BB Cream on too soon. Sounds like Lorac has the same problem. You saved me some money today.
