MAC Baking Beauties Lip Swatches
Glace, Cheery Cheery, Lavender Whip, Devil’s Food

Glace is a pale icy blue.

Cheery Cheery is a light cool pink.

Lavender Whip is a very cool toned lavender (cremesheen).

Devil’s Food is a deep plum/brown (frost).

MAC Baking Beauties Pink Rebel, Dabgerous Cuvee, Eclair Swatches
Pink Rebel, Dangerous Cuvée, Éclair

Pink Rebel is a pink with gold pearl. So pretty.

Dangerous Cuvée is a frosty grey with silver.

Éclair is a light coppery brown with gold. LOVE.

MAC Baking Beauties Pearlmatte Face Powder Swatches
Pink Buttercream, In for a Treat

Pink Buttercream combines to be a light slightly silvery pink.

In for a Treat combines to be a light shimmery peach.

MAC Confectionary
Confectionary

Confectionary is a light cool-toned pink creme. Had the potential to be a nice shade, however it was very streaky, even after three thin coats.

MAC Bleu Velvet
Bleu Velvet

Bleu Velvet is a periwinkle blue creme. Another one with good potential, but bad streaky formula. This is three coats.

MAC Pistachio Creme
Pistachio Crème

Pistachio Crème is a light cool mint-like creme. Same story as the others. Nice color, bad formula. This is three coats.

Overall: Aside form the totally obvious, which is that this collection is cute as hell, there are some good things in here. In particular I love the Pearlmatte Face Powders, Pink Rebel Lustre Drops, Eclair Paint Pot and Lavender Whip Lipstick.

I’m sad to say, as per usual lately, that the creme nail shades just aren’t that great. If they could work out their issue with streaky cremes it would be a great thing!

Availability: MAC.

What do you think about Baking Beauties? Anything you got or will be getting?

I don’t like the look of Devil’s Food at all, it looks like it pools? Blah those always look awful on me! Boo on those polishes! I’ll stick with the gorgeous colors Essie just came out with! I just don’t buy MAC polishes because they never quite look brilliant!

It doesn’t pool but it’s very patchy on me. Not my kind of shade! MAC does shimmer polish pretty well I don’t know what the deal is with the cremes!

Nothing in this collection grabs me.

I was really hoping Devils Food would have more purple in it. I’ve been looking for a darker plum lipstick with some shimmer to it. Darn!

Yeah it looks much more brown than plum to me.

I thought that the Dangerous Cuvee Paint Pot looked awesome when i saw the picture, but the swatch did not look impressive at all :( That’s disappointing because I thought it would be a really great shade.

I think the powders and lilac lipstick are adorable and would be quite cheery on a Monday morning.

    Aren’t the powders $30?

    • April 11, 2013

      My press release says $29.

I LOVE the color of Bleu Velvet, but shame about the formula. Are there any similar shades you know of?

No sorry! I would suspect anything similar would be from another indie brand though.

I think the Paint Pots are cute, but otherwise nothing really grabs my attention here. I thought last year’s Spring collections were better.

Thaaankies! I know you often wanted to not do these MAC releases anymore but ooo yea! Devils Food seems red on you. Can you skin swatch it and compare it to Oh, Oh, Oh?

Love the swatches. I need to see your other PM posts. These look kind of un-smooth

They look very sweet all together, it’s a beautiful palette. I don’t find myself wanting any of the individual products. How odd.. Beautiful swatches !

I’ll pass, I much prefer Temperature Rising collection ( both arrive in May here ). The powders are lovely but mostly in the pan, the product itself looks like any highlighter I think. I love pastel shades though.

Such a shame about the nail polish, the shades are so cute, but I HATE streaky formulas ha ha.. But I’ve found that creamy nail polish in pastel colors are always a challenge to apply properly.

Nah. These lovely colors won’t really work for my skintone. Going to pass but I can’t wait to see what’s next.
