Jordana Sweet n’ Smooth Nourishing Lip Balm Review

Jordana Sweet n Smooth Nourishing Lip Balm

Jordana Sweet n’ Smooth Nourishing Lip Balm is new this spring and comes in eight lightly tinted, flavored shades.

This balm is infused with vitamin C, Shea butter and jojoba oil so your lips feel hydrated and protected. They are very lightly tinted, some lighter than others. They have a super slick and smooth feel to them – they glide right across lips leaving a light layer of balm.

They are flavored and scented with their individual names.

Jordana Sweet n Smooth Nourishing Lip Balm-2
Vanilla Cake, Tropical Punch, Yummy Strawberry, Delicious Tangerine, Tasty Watermelon, Sweet Mango, Juicy Raspberry, Succulent Cherry

One thing to note about the packaging. It’s not the greatest! They feel a bit flimsy and when you twist them up part-way, most of them fall right back down into the tube. That’s why I had to twist them all the way up for these pics so they click into place, fully extended.

The first two, Vanilla Cake and Tropical Punch were virtually invisible on my hand so I didn’t swatch them.

Overall: As far as texture, they feel light and slick. Comfortable. They didn’t last very long on me though before I felt the need to reapply. Maybe an hour. Also they don’t feel like they really penetrate my lips, so while the surface felt smooth, overall they weren’t really that moisturizing. The ones I swatched (aside from Yummy Strawberry, which is also nearly invisible on me) did leave my lips with a nice shiny stained look. They are super inexpensive though, so it might be fun to play around with a couple and see how you like them.

Availability: Jordana, drugstores.

Pricing: $1.49 for 0.138 oz.

I love tinted balms, as long as they’re VERY moisturizing (I have quite dry lips). I’ll have to try them out – they’ll be a great cheap alternative, if they work well!

If I see these around, I’ll definitely pick one up – I usually like Jordana’s scents, they’re sweet but not too artificial, and the price is certainly right!

Thanks for doing swatches of these – I never know how much, or if any, color you’ll get from these type of drugstore lip balms. But these are nice! I’d pick up a couple for sure!

It seems like they were going for something similar to the Maybelline Baby Lips balms, but didn’t quite pull it off. Baby Lips are amazing, and also very affordable. They could charge twice as much for those things and I’d still scoop up every single one.

At that price, I’d definitely try one. Succulent Cherry and Sweet Mango look interesting.

The color payoff looks pretty decent for these. For that price I’m inclined to at least try the mango one.

Try Buddha Balm you will love it. Nothing better.

These look similar to the Baby Lips line, are they comparable?

Not sure, I don’t support Maybelline, sorry!

Hmm, I’ll have to purchase some of these and try them out for myself then! :)

Out of curiosity, why don’t you support Maybelline?

  • April 3, 2013

They have a really good price so I might have to try them out and see what I think. I tend to chew my lips when I’m thinking (unfortunately) so I might end up re-applying more than normal…
