Tarte Beauty & The Box Secret Garden Swatches & Review

Tarte Beauty & The Box Secret Garden

New from Tarte this spring is the Beauty & The Box Amazonian Clay Eye Shadow Quad in Secret Garden.

This adorable quad comes in a purple and pink flower designed box and opens up to four shimmery eye shadow shades.

Tarte Beauty & The Box Secret Garden Swatches
Sprout, Goldenrod, Fern, Vine (over primer)

Sprout is a pale iridescent yellow/gold. A little sparse on the pigmentation, but it is supposed to be light.

Goldenrod is a antique gold with hint of green. Pigmented and so pretty.

Fern is a medium pigmented warm green. Another great one.

Vine is a very deep olive green/brown shimmer. Absolutely fabulous shade and intense pigmentation.

Overall: These are my kind of shades! Anything gold and green is ok by me as long as the pigmentation and texture is there. And these definitely were. Love how you can create a lighter “day” look by using Sprout on its own or mixed with Goldenrod or Fern or a smoky “night” look using Vine mixed with the others.

Availability: Tarte, Sephora.

Pricing: $22.00.

Well, cute but it looks like the Benefit blushes ( the packaging is very close I think ). Unfortunately we don’t have Tarte here but this is a brand I’d like to try !

The colors are beautiful! I’m so into all of them. The only thing that worries me about the packaging is eventual transfer from one color to another. It’s so pretty though…

I don’t usually go for the green types of colors, but these are lovely. I love the combo of gold and green shades, and these should look really nice on the eyes.

Is it weird that it bothers me to feel like the colors inside don’t match the colors of the box? I feel like they both look lovely on their own, but not together. ;)

  • March 27, 2013

I LOVE these colors! This almost reminds me of my beloved WetnWild Comfort Zone palette. I always get compliments on these shades…neutrals but not boring tans..goes well with my blue eyes.

Do you find that over time the edges of the shadows start to blend together? This has always been my concern with these even though I love the colors.
