BB Couture Pastel Bunnies for Spring 2013 Swatches & Review

BB Couture Pastel Bunnies BB Couture Pastel Bunnies for Spring 2013 Swatches & Review

BB Couture Pastel Bunnies for spring 2013 is a new collection that features six new pastel creme lacquers.

Actually they are pastel cremes, but some of them have very subtle hidden shimmer. These aren’t the chalky kind of pastel, they’re more milky and sheer. They are buildable though, and most are three coats for complete coverage. A couple are a bit patchy so working slowly and letting each coat dry is key to avoid some of the dreaded patchiness.

BB Couture Snow Bunny BB Couture Pastel Bunnies for Spring 2013 Swatches & Review
Snow Bunny

Snow Bunny is a cotton candy pink creme. I did have some issues with patches with this one and it was three coats.

BB Couture Honey Bunny BB Couture Pastel Bunnies for Spring 2013 Swatches & Review
Honey Bunny

Honey Bunny is a pale lemon yellow creme with hidden yellow shimmer. Man, I love these kind of pale yellow shades so much but it never fails that they are patchy! It kind of goes with the yellow territory. Either way I love this color and will still wear it. This was three coats.

BB Couture Bunny Bum BB Couture Pastel Bunnies for Spring 2013 Swatches & Review
Bunny Bum

Bunny Bum is a cool peach creme with hidden gold shimmer. This is another one that I adore. It’s a really pretty, soft peach, not too orange. It was a bit patchy, but not as bad as Honey Bunny. This is three coats.

BB Couture Bunny Love BB Couture Pastel Bunnies for Spring 2013 Swatches & Review
Bunny Love

Bunny Love is a pale lavender creme. This one was much more even in application than the previous three. This is just two coats.

BB Couture Cotton Tail BB Couture Pastel Bunnies for Spring 2013 Swatches & Review
Cotton Tail

Cotton Tail is a soft pale cool green creme. Another shade I absolutely adore, but it’s also patchy. I’ll still wear it though! This is three coats.

BB Couture Bunny Boo Boo BB Couture Pastel Bunnies for Spring 2013 Swatches & Review
Bunny Boo Boo

Bunny Boo Boo is a rich violet creme with hidden blue shimmer. This one was super opaque and nearly just one coat, but I used two. Great formula and very pretty shade. No patchiness!

Overall: I like this collection because it’s not the typical whitened chalky pastels we see a lot of. These are milkier, and even though some were patchy, I really liked all the shades. The stand-out most interesting ones for me were Honey Bunny, Cotton Tail and Bunny Bum. I also love Bunny Boo Boo, it had the best formula.

Availability: BB Couture and Overall Beauty.

Pricing: $10.95 for 0.5 oz.

What do you think of Pastel Bunnies? Anything here you will be getting?

These are really beautiful, but I feel that they are too cliche for Spring. I think they would have been way more interesting if they would have had more shimmer, or a flakie, maybe even both.

    • I wish the hidden shimmer in the three that have it was a bit more prominent.

Bunny Boo Boo looks absolutely gorgeous! I love periwinkle creams with hidden sparkle, but they hardly ever come out in Canada :(

Gosh these are so pretty with the hidden shimmer to them! But for that price point I don’t think I really want to deal with patchiness. I wonder what it is with all pastel yellows that causes such patchy problems? I crave a really rich creamy or shimmery yellow that flows beautifully!

Maybe I’m just really girly but I love the bunny theme. Who doesn’t love bunnies? Maybe not the most original spring collection but pretty colours and very cohesive.

  • I adore Bunny Love and the formula of that one sounds good, the peach is lovely too (though I’m not sure how often I’d use it, a little bright for me)

I love all of those and would wear any but the yellow (yellow hates my skin) in a shirt, but for some reason pastels always look crappy on me. Makes my hands looks zombie.

  • I love pastels! Too bad the formula is patchy, with so many collections releasing pastels with better formulas, I don’t think ‘ll get any of these :-(
Do you have Illamasqua Load? Is lighter, but is a yellow with a great formula!

    • Yep I do, but Load doesn’t really look that yellow to me. At least not this kind of lemon yellow.

  • Oh my gosh, these are gorgeous. I want all of them. Only one that looks slightly disappointing is Bunny Love. Although it’s supposed to be pale, I wish it was a little darker. It looks gray almost but either way, it’s still very pretty, but it’s probably my least favorite of all of them. I think Bunny Bum looks good on your nails with your skin color.

Kelly, your nails look longer here than usual. They always look nice, but I really like this length on you!
I love these, especially Bunny Boo Boo. I wonder how it compares to Deborah Lippmann Shoshanna?

    Reply · March 8, 2013
    • Thanks but funny enough, I have been keeping them shorter than usually I ever have! I think it’s the more square filing I have been doing making them appear longer, but they’re actually below my fingertip! :)
