Zoya PixieDust Swatches and Review
Zoya PixieDust is the latest collection from the brand for spring, and it’s not like anything we have seen from Zoya before – it’s textured!
Indeed, I think we are going to be seeing a whole ‘lotta textured polish in the near future, and I for one am on board!
PixieDust features six new shades in the pebbled, sand-like finish. It’s a rather fine texture, so no worries about your nails looking like they have large chunks of sand stuck to them! It’s finer and not as gritty as say the OPI Liquid Sand ones.
No base or top coat required, and you get a matte yet still sparkly finish. I used three coats on the first three shades, and then two coats on the last three (the darker shades).
Godiva is a pale nude/sand shade. This is the softest and most natural looking one. Three coats.
Vespa is a soft medium green. Love this color and love the finish with it. Three coats.
Nyx is a medium periwinkle. Very pretty soft shade. Three coats.
London is a medium grey shade. Love the name, love the shade. This is one of my favs. Two coats.
Chyna is a bright red with red sparkles. Intense saturated red, really nice coverage. Two coats.
Dahlia is a deep black. Really nice coverage with this one, love the textured finish with it. Two coats.
Overall: I love them, truly! I am totally down with a textured finish. I’ve been hoping for a few years that companies would start doing something other than just plain glitter. It doesn’t bother me that they aren’t completely smooth to the touch, as most glitter polishes aren’t either.
I am impressed with all the shades, but my favorites are Vespa, London and Dahlia. But I also really like Nyx and Chyna!
Availability: Zoya.
Pricing: $9.00 for 0.5 oz.
Do you see anything here you love? Are you on board with textured polish yet?
-Kelly
Note: Zoya is cruelty free.

So gorgeous. Normally I’d make a bee line to a red, but Nyx is beautiful and completely eye catching.

There are some nice colors here, but the texture would drive me crazy. I’d end up picking at it and peeling it all off. Still, it’s nice to see something different, even if it’s not up my alley.
Any chance of seeing these with a top coat? I love the colors, but can’t stand these sandy polishes! I tried the red opi liquid sand and had to take it off within two hours. Something about the texture makes my skin crawl.
VESPAAAAAA. It is so lovely and perfect for spring.

Cuuuuute but how annoying was the removal?
this is what im curious about!
I really love the thought of texture but I really didn’t like the liquid sands from OPI. I work in a salon and am always in contact with other people. I didn’t prefer the scratch. It was too rough.
Love these and hope my swap buddy in California can get them for me soon!
Not feeling any of the textured polishes. I’m not really a fan of glitter, so I know these are a no go for me. This is not a trend I can get on board with.

I love all of these! I only picked up four shades but I might have to go back and get the other two. I wore Godvia on my toes and I loved it!
I’m totally loving this texturized nails trend and I would gladly wear all six of them! They look so sparkly and pretty haha
I haven’t had a chance to wear any of these yet but I’ve swatched and I’m in love with the sugary look!
I bought Dahlia and I love it! I am such a big fan of the textured polish trend right now.

Even mild texture bugs the hell out of me, so this trend isn’t for me. Pretty colors, though – I’d be curious to see what they look like with top coat.
I love how they look with topcoat. I have trouble with the texture too; Basically, as soon as I accidentally ran my nails together (nails on a chalkboard type of feeling to me), I decided I couldn’t stand it any longer and put a couple coats of top coat on.
One coat retains some of the texture without having the super gritty feeling, two makes them mostly smooth, and three makes them glassy, and the colors are absolutely beautiful in all cases and still maintain quite a bit of uniqueness!

I was hoping you would have Pixie Dust swatches!! I need Godiva, so soft and subtle. Might need London too….
I literally just received these in the mail yesterday. I bought London, NYX and Godiva. I can’t wait to try them!
Great swatches! I have London and Vespa and love both

Dahlia is ah-maze-ing! I don’t really like the color red in most instances, but I think I would be ok with this one
These are pretty but look quite textured which annoys me sometimes. They would be nice for nail art though to add texture.

Nice swatches! Does look like removal would be tricky though, surely it rubs off the top surface of your nail, like sandpaper?

Nope, the same as glitter really.
I love them all, but I was really surprised to find that my favorite is Godiva. Trust me, I never ever thought I’d love a nude this much!

These are fun! Haven’t tried this type of formula yet, but if I was, I think I’d pick Zoya’s because OPIs were a bit tacky to me.

I wore Chyna and did use base coat, and had no issues.
LOVE these! Thanks for swatching – I already have Nyx, Vespa, and London (which is a new fave), but now I obviously need Dahlia, too.
Also, I’m lucky if I can get two days out of polish regardless of base/top coat, and these things wear like IRON on me. And I love that they’re very, very matte in person, without using a matte top coat. Also? Surprisingly since they’re so glitter-heavy, they’re a breeze to remove. CRAZY.
Your pics of Chyna look far better than any others I’ve seen. I think I’d have to see it in person to be convinced, though. Nyx is definitely my favorite, though, and I like Vespa and Godiva, too. I think this finish looks much better in the lighter shades.
So excited you have swatches of this collection, Kelly! It’s caught my eye since I first saw promo images. I have to say, I’m not as in love as I thought I would be, but they are very pretty. I’m just not totally sold on the textured look. I wish it was more of a matte-but-smooth finish.

I think I’m in love! I’ve always loved shades that have that kind of look so these textured ones are right up my alley. I’m kind of loving Chyna which is odd as I don’t often fall for reds. I’d still like every one of them in my stash!
Nice swatches!

I love them all, and even though I was not impressed by textured polishes at first, I fell for them!

Love these! I’ve see them around the blog’osphere lately and I’ve been meaning to pick them up. I like Vespa, London and Dahlia the best.

I am so not excited about anything that’s currently a popular nail trend. Liquid sand, milky glitter… I don’t know what’s wrong with me! I really hate these liquid sand polishes, though. They just look so unfinished.
Looove these really wanna try Godiva, Dahlia, and Chyna!!!
I have Godiva and absolutely love it. Seeing your pics makes me want several more!

I think I like these with the glitter in them better than the creme ones from Milani. I think something about the glitter plays well with the texture.

I got the whole collection for my birthday and I love them! I hate the OPI ones, they are really gritty and like sandpaper, but these aren’t nearly as bad. They have texture and feel slightly bumpy, but not rough. I wore London over I Saw… You Saw… We Saw… Warsaw and it looked great. I really love these.
