Wet n Wild Coverall Cream Foundation Swatches & Review

Wet n Wild Coverall Cream Foundation

So there is this new concealer from Wet n Wild called Coverall Cream Foundation.

This foundation comes in seven shades. So here’s the deal. The website describes the foundation different than the back of the tube does. Odd. I am going to describe it as the bottle says, since that was my experience anyway!

These foundations offer medium to full coverage, build-able coverage, and have a semi-matte finish. The bottle doesn’t say they have SPF in them anywhere, but the website does. I am going with they don’t, because it would be listed on the tubes.

The shades are:

  • 815 – Fair
  • 816 – Fair/Light
  • 817 – Light
  • 818 – Light/Medium
  • 819 – Medium
  • 820 – Medium/Tan
  • 850 – Tan

For me, as per usual, the best shade was the second lightest one which is 816. It had a nice amount of yellow in it, so it matched my skin rather nicely.

I wore 816 over my standard moisturizer with SPF and was really impressed with it. I’m not sure I can remember the last time I wore a drugstore foundation and liked it. I tend to go for higher-end brands for foundation.

I liked that it covered really nicely and I could build it up in areas where I wanted more coverage. It felt creamy but is on the thick side. A little can go a long way depending on what coverage you want. Once on, it wasn’t too oily or dry/chalky looking. It has a semi-matte finish, which works for me because straight matte is too harsh, and some of the dewier finishes just make me look shiny and greasy.

It has a very slight “makeup” smell to it, but nothing to get offended over. It lasted on me all day and I never had to pat down any oil in my t-zone.

Overall: I like it! I am surprised that I liked it as much as I did because I haven’t had good luck with drugstore foundations in the past. For days when I want a heavier coverage than a BB Cream can offer, I will definitely be grabbing this one.

Availability: Drugstores.

Pricing: $3.59 for 1 oz.

Have you tried this one yet?

Very intersting!! Looks great on you, the lightest shade will be the right one for me probably. I might pick it up next time I order some WnW st00f! :)

I like how 816 looks on you Kelly, that’s the one I’d probably go with too, I’m curious, did you ever use Covergirl? I am a ‘Creamy Natural’ in that brand, is that similar to 816 in these? I guess I can hold both up in the store and hope that the lighting is good enough that it will tell the tale. I am so grateful you do Wet n’ Wild reviews! Thanks again! ♥

Nope, I don’t review them sorry!

  • February 25, 2013

I liked foundation surprisingly well too! I initially bought 817 which is an okay match, but ended up buying 816 too, which is a better match for me at this time of year.

This seems like a nice option for a great price. Nice to see a well performing product that can be had for a true bargain.

  • February 25, 2013

Wow, for the price I can definitely afford to try this out! Very cool! Do you think the creamier texture would work well with somewhat dry skin? I seem to be struggling with my foundation application a little because of the winter weather >.<

I picked this up recently as well and was very pleased with it! I have an oily T-zone and the foundation paired with their matching powder left me virtually shine free all day – I have NOT had the same experience with other drugstore brands at all! Plus the coverage was excellent – Wet-n-Wild has really been hitting it out of the park lately!!!

I just recommend this to a friend. I might try it out also to see if it’ll match up to my oily skin.

Ooo…this looks like something that is up my alley. As much as I love makeup, I don’t prefer foundation much. Especially during the warm months. Honestly, as far as foundation for my personal use goes, when you review one, I head over to Sephora, grab a sample and it will last me at least 2 weeks. So needless to say, I have a ton of samples in my make-up bag. I just hate the nasty feeling of something heavier than my skin on my face. I always end up rubbing it off. this is cheap enough for me to purchase the whole bottle and not feel regret.

As a women of color, I’ll say the shade range is limited!

  • February 26, 2013

Hmm, good info! I would never have thought to pick this up, but I think I will have to try it!

Also, LOVE your eye makeup! It looks lovely with your eye’s! What is that blue? Blue’s like that tend to turn green on me.

I have NC25 shade, currently using Revlon Colorstay shade 180 – Sand Beige. Which shade of this line should I try? :D

    • March 1, 2013

I’m not really familiar with the Revlon Colorstay foundation line, but I would think if you are NC25 you would be either 818 or 819.

    Will it suit combo skin?

  • March 3, 2013

I’ve read a lot of really good reviews on this product and would like to try it. I wear a Neutrogena Healthy Skin 60 natural beige. What WnW would be best for me? About 816? Anybody have any experience with this?

I’ve been dying to try shade 815 ever since I tried the new Coverall Pressed Powder in 821B Fair. However, it seems very few locations are carrying the very lightest and very darkest shades. :(

I happened to see the new Coverall Pressed Powders when I was buying some of the new Fergie lippies so I thought I’d give it a try for $2.99 since the Fair shade looked like it would actually match my very light very neutral skin. Not only did it match but it has become my most beloved face powder! <3

I am still in shock as all my skin makeup is high end. I can't remember the last time I bought foundation, concealer, or any other skin makeup at the drugstore.

The Coverall Pressed Powder is so gloriously smooth and feels like silk on my skin! The color blends beautifully, has buildable coverage, and becomes invisible while still having enough coverage to handle the redness I get on my nose in the winter. It's…amazing! It works beautifully with my NARS Sheer Glow Foundation and NARS Concealer as well. It works wonderfully against bare skin too – if I'm in a rush I can just apply it to the areas of need a blend using a dabbing motion with a makeup sponge. (Normally I only use brushes but I find a makeup sponge works best with this powder when applying against bare skin.) I am in love with this powder!!! <3 <3 <3

And so, now I am super curious about the Coverall Cream Foundation! It looks fab on you! :D

I am definitely going to try it (especially at that price!) but it's hard to find the shade I need, 815 Fair. So far only ONE location had a slot for the Fair shade of the Coverall Pressed Powder and it was the location where I bought it. I wanted to buy another one to keep in my purse but I haven't been able to find it anywhere in my shade. Most stores are only carrying the Light shade and darker. :( Same goes for the Coverall Cream Foundation. Hopefully I'll be able to find it soon!

Thanks for the beautiful photos and review! :D I'm so excited to try it…now if I can just find the Fair shade…
