Milani Texture Nail Lacquer Swatches and Review

Milani Texture Nail Lacquer Milani Texture Nail Lacquer Swatches and Review

Milani Texture Nail Lacquer is a collection featuring six new shades with a sandy, textured finish.

Told you everyone would be coming out with textured polishes! icon smile Milani Texture Nail Lacquer Swatches and Review

These are fabulous, I love them. They were all just two coats and the finish just looks really cool to me. No special application really, all you do is paint on two coats and let ‘em dry. As they dry you start to see the texture more and more. No top coat! They do dry rather bumpy, more so than the Zoya PixieDust ones, but it doesn’t bother me since I don’t expect them to be smooth.

Yellow Mark is a bright, warm-ish yellow. Yay for a yellow that isn’t a hot streaky mess!

Aqua Splash is a medium teal shade. I used two coats here but actually think I could have done three to make it a little better.

Tainted In Red is really a bright orange to my eye. Ok a reddish/orange. Great pigmentation, one of my favs!

Overall: Well obviously if you hate textured polish or not having a smooth finish, these aren’t for you. For those who love it, I think it’s safe to say you will love these. They are fabulous! As for removal, they are easy as pie. Easier than a glitter. They don’t really leave any “bits” on your nails or fingertips at all.

Availability: In stores now, but releasing through March. Also online.

Pricing: $4.99 for 0.45 oz.

Whatddya think, are you going to try them out? Which shades are your favorites?

I’m wearing the yellow one right now and I cannot stop touching my nails. Love them!

Ugh, I hate them. I really liked one or two of the liquid sand ones by OPI, and the Zoya Pixie Dust ones look pretty, but these…blargh! I ADORE teals like the Aqua Splash one, but even the gorgeous color couldn’t get me to wear it.

    • Agreed. Nothing against Kelly’s application, but they just look gross. I think textures that dry matte and sparkly are much more appealing than this wet stucco look. :/

  • I think these would look even better in a matte finish. That textured “sandy” look always looks good dry.

Not gonna lie – the yellow scares me a bit, haha. I do love Aqua Splash and Spoiled in Fuchsia, and Purple Streak and Shady Gray are growing on me after seeing your swatches! Can’t wait to find these.

I’m loving the creme look to these. It really shows the texture better than with the glitter. Hmm.. Might have to get these.

  • Whooaa, these are crazy. I’m not sure how I feel about them. They definitely look cool though and I like the finish without glitter/shimmer/sparkle/etc

  • These pics looks much better than what I saw on instagram. I think the effect looks a lot cooler in some colors than in others. The grey, fuschia, and purple look pretty cool. But then the other colors look like colored cottage cheese to me.

I guess I’m on the fence. It’ll really depend on the color choice.

  • I like the colors but I am not fond of texture polishes. These are especially lumpy and that’s not appealing to me at all! I’ll pass.

These sort of remind me of those Nerds jelly beans that come out at Easter! I generally haven’t been a fan of textured polishes so far, but these somewhat interest me. Maybe I’ll pick one up just for kicks. Great pictures Kelly, thanks!

Eww, I definitely won’t be picking up any of these. They’re horrid. I like some of the colours, but the texture is even worse than I thought it might be

the yellow is amazing. i really like the grey and purple too. i would not be able to stop picking at the polish though, i already tend to absentmindedly pick at regular polish.

  • The colors are pretty but the texture seems so weird. I think I’d be at school and work constantly touching my finger tips. I find that some of these textured polishes don’t last as long simply because I don’t wear a top coat and I’m constantly using hand sanitizer but I guess they’d be fun for a night out. I’m actually wanting to try a couple of these out though. Great swatches.

  • Like the fx of these–much more so than other textured polishes I’ve seen. The effect here looks actually purposeful; a lot of them end up looking like your polish is expired or full of air bubbles or something. Colors of these are awful, though. Guess I’m not destined to try textured polish.

I love the texture, but I prefer the matte-glitter texture polishes to these. Some of the colors here are super pretty though!

I don’t really like the texture of these….except for the gray one, that looks like asphalt, they have the clumpy texture of something that’s gone bad.

So after seeing some swatches I thought…maybe I’ll get Aqua Splash if I come across a display. Give it a try. I was feeling very bleh/meh about these at first but after seeing some swatches and reviews I was very drawn to the look of Aqua Splash. Something about that color and the texture was workin’ for me…

Sooo…I stumbled across a display today and seeing the nice, vibrant shades in person made these look very appealing. Plus, Milani is on sale this week so I got Aqua Splash, Tainted in Red, and Yellow Mark. I like that they feel like…weird plastic? Lol!

I think these are fun and I have a feeling I’m going to enjoy the nice bright shades in the summer especially! I’m not 100% in love with this trend (and probably won’t partake of it much unless something mind blowing happens…*eyes Zoya*) I feel like something about these works somehow though and it’s a fun collection! :)
