Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you have a great day regardless if you celebrate this greeting card created holiday or not! Heart MAC Archies Girls Veronica Collection Swatches & Review

What say we get into MAC Archie’s Girls Veronica collection now? This might appeal to those who love cool-toned purples and pinks, as opposed to the peachy/coral type shades of Betty. Oh and there is a must-have red lipstick in here also…

Hallelujah we actually have four really good shades here! All were nicely pigmented and I had no troubles getting easy payoff. They are also really nice shades!

Spoiled Rich is a medium purple frost.

Pin-Up Purple is a medium/deep orchid purple frost.

Ron Ron Run is a deep navy blue satin.

Gravel is a deep charcoal grey matte.

Mall Madness, Feelin’ So Good, Ronnie Red

Mall Madness is a shimmery pink/purple. Really pretty shade.

Feelin’ So Good is a dark blackened plum. Aside from the fact that it’s too dark for me, this seriously settled into lip lines, and was really patchy.

Ronnie Red is a bright matte red. Utterly gorgeous and a must-have if you love red. It has a pinkish tone to it.

Double Trouble on pointer and ring, Past Curfew on middle and pinky

Double Trouble is a deep navy blue creme. Nice shade and goes with the collection, but nothing that interesting. This was two coats.

Past Curfew is a medium/deep berry creme. Two coats.

Overall: There were some really good items in this collection. My favorites are Ronnie Red Lipstick, Mall Madness Lipglass, Veronica’s Blush Face Powder and the Spoiled Rich eye shadow quad.

Availability: MAC.

Pricing: Eye Shadow x 4 ($44), Pigment ($23), Face Powder ($30), Blush ($22), Eye Liner ($16.50), Mascara ($17.50), Lipglass ($16.50), Lipstick ($16.50), Nail Lacquer ($17.50).

What do you like in Veronica? Is this more your speed than Betty?

  • I’m most probably more of a Veronica! I have Spoiled Rich, and now I’m lemming for Ronnie Red!

These swatches are really helpful, thank you. I definitely want Spoiled Rich and Ronnie Red, and maybe Veronica’s Blush (although I have so many blushes already, but with this one being a pearlmatte I might just have to). I already have the eyeliners from a previous collection. What are your thoughts on Black Poodle?

    • Black Poodle is a cool color but really dark! I probably wouldn’t wear it much, I prefer lighter colors. It has good pigmentation though.

I have Ronnie Red & I wore it yesterday for the first time.. it’s AMAZING! It may be my new go-to red!

  • I have Feelin’ So Good, and while it’s too patchy to wear on it’s own, it is fantastic for layering – it deepens reds, and is gorgeous over purples & vamps too.

I am surprised. Temptalia gave the eyeshadows a bad review, but she does test them on her eyes for application and wearabilty. I went for daddys little girl and the beauty powder, waiting on ronnie red.

  • Thanks for posting this! I love the Veronica collection! More of the colors I can wear. I’m headed to MAC store this weekend. I think I need black poodle but want to see it on my olive skin!

I really like mall madness. A lot of the glosses, I’ve noticed, tend to settle in the fine lines of lips, but mall madness doesn’t, and it’s a pretty color, too!

  • It’s not possible to get swatches up quickly and also spend a day wear-testing everything I get. I would have to have 10 faces to test it all! I do test eye liners that I haven’t previously worn before, but eyeshadows 99% of the time wear on me all day, and everyone is different with wear so it’s not that helpful actually. I mentioned this in my post about why I never discuss nail polish wear, because everyone has different chemistry, and what lasts 24 hours on me may last 5 days on someone else.

    • I agree and I’m never first to post anything usually. But eyeshadows for me are usually the same every time. If it swatches really badly on my hand that means it won’t work on my eyes and vice versa.I’m pretty sure Christine doesn’t wear-test every single eyeshadow she gets in a MAC collection because it would take her weeks to get a large MAC post up and she’s usually always first.

Arg I told myself not buying that collection but I might say that the Ronnie lipstick is awesome and tempting

I love Ronnie Red and wear it all the time. It’s SO not red on me, though. It’s a very bright pink!
