Juice Beauty CC Cream Swatches & Review
Ok you know how we have BB Creams? They are all the rage in the US lately right? Well get ready to start hearing about another type of product – CC Cream.
What the heck is a CC Cream? I started hearing about them at the beginning of the year and was really intrigued as to what the differences were with CC Creams and BB Creams. So here is the scoop.
CC Creams stand for Color Correcting Cream. The Juice Beauty CC Cream (certified organic) is a twelve in one multi-tasker. Most BB Creams don’t do quite as much as a CC Cream does.
- Repairs damage
- Evens skin tone & texture
- Firms & improves elasticity
- Reduces fine lines & wrinkles
- Creates a radiant, glowing complexion
- Balances skin tone
- Rich in antioxidants
- Protects with chemical free SPF 30 · Mineral tinted coverage
- Ultimate moisturizer
- Skin perfecting color
- Great for all skin types
Juice Beauty is actually a Bay Area company and you can read their story here. They have mostly certified organic products, all gluten-free, and they said as of mid last year, most everything is also vegan. They have a line with Alicia Silverstone which is 100% vegan.
The texture of the CC Cream is more like a tinted moisturizer than a BB Cream. It has a thick texture, but not heavy coverage. It actually is very minimal in the coverage department in terms of covering red areas and evening out my skin-tone. Definitely more like a tinted moisturizer than a BB Cream. It does a good job of hiding pores, like a primer would, but maybe not quite as good as some primers.
It has a very herbal/medicinal scent, which I don’t love, but it goes away after a bit.
Overall: I like all the benefits it claims to have, but it just didn’t offer enough coverage for me. I kind of felt like I was wearing nothing more than just the slightest hint of something on my face or just a primer. When compared to all the BB Creams I have tried, I definitely prefer them over this. I feel TOO naked!
Availability: Juice Beauty.
Pricing: $39.00 for 1.7 oz.
Have you heard of this or tried it?

Note: They are not cruelty free.

Way too little coverage for me, too. Plus most (or all) of the BB Creams and primers seem to have some type of silicone or silicone derivative in them, which gives me CATASTROPHIC breakouts. Like, painful deep-under-the-skin cystic breakouts that take forever to heal. Never ever will I do that to myself again!
What is on your lips in this picture?! <3 it!
Laura Mercier Arabesque Lipstick.
Hm looks interesting. But I don’t think it’s worth it for me.. if I’m going to wear a face product, I want more coverage!
I do think Juice is cruelty-free in their own practices, but they did enter China. For many people, this means it’s no longer cruelty-free. You can read the full statement here… it’s posted by The Kind Life in the comments section, a ways down. I couldn’t find it anywhere else, otherwise I’d link to that directly.

Thanks, yep they are not then. I tweeted them twice but they never responded.
I really like the idea of this but the execution lacks in my opinion. Coverage is a must have for me. Thanks for the honest review!

Not enough coverage for me either. Maybe would work best underneath foundation but I would never wear it alone. My skin is way less than perfect.

Wow let me just say you have really great skin! If I had looked at the photo of you and not read the review I would have thought that this was medium to full coverage. You still look great even with almost no coverage!
The CC Cream was created almost 3 years ago in Asia and it took its sweet time to come to us. It is the pionner brand Rachel K Cosmetics which came first with this concept and made it famous. Rachel K is a Miss Universe (from Singapore) and she was not satisfied with the results of her BB cream. So she created her own version mixing makeup and skincare benefits and voila !: here goes the Color Control cream with high SPF 35++ (highest available today).
By the way you can get it on their website.
Also to note that the DD cream already exist too
They are dermatologic cream for extremely dry skin on the feet area (crackeled heels) and hands.
As now CC Cream are making a lot of noise, sure some DD will also show up
I have the Rachel K one also and will be reviewing it soon…not too impressed sadly!
