Green Hills of California The Green Hills of Northern California

Just about 45 minutes from home is this vast area near Marsh Creek I had never been to until recently. Such gorgeous views!

It might be a bit far for you, but if you like hiking and the outdoors, you may like Castle Rock in the Los Gatos foothills. SOOO beautiful.

There’s rock climbing there too, which is fun. Even if you don’t climb yourself, it’s great to watch others. Note that it can be pretty cold there. Though if I recall correctly it can also be pretty cold over in the East Bay. (I grew up in Danville.)

    • Thanks for the tip! Yep it gets colder in the East Bay in the winter than say Berkeley or SF.

Know right where this is! I lived in the Berkeley Hills for a # of yrs then over in Marin Co way out by Inverness. I spent a lot of time hunting round the area east and north and west mostly. It’s a pretty place to take a drive and pack a wine or whatever lunch date. It’s been glorious in Cali – I love it when we get the cooler weather this time of yr.

Gorgeous! Too bad CA only stays green for like a month lol. I live by a mountain range, which is luscious and green during winter. The other 10 months of the year, I’m staring at brown blobs lol.
