Flower Kiss Stick Velvet Lip Color Swatches & Review

Flower Kiss Stick Velvet Lip Color Flower Kiss Stick Velvet Lip Color Swatches & Review

The other day I showed you swatches of the new Flower Kiss Sticks High-Shine Lip Colors from Drew Barrymore and Walmart, and now I have the Kiss Sticks Velvet Lip Colors for ya.

There are nine shades of these, all infused with emollients for moisture and a smooth application. These ones come in a white tube with rose gold accents and the same see-through bottom.

These have a less-creamy and slick feel to them than the High-Shine Kiss Sticks do. They are a velvet, low-shine finish, and not quite as pigmented, though still pretty nice. They do feel a little more dry on my lips, so I would probably wear a lip balm underneath if I was wearing one for long.

So Gladiola is a medium peach.

Camelia Charm is a pale ballet pink.

Flamingo Flower is a bright cool fuchsia.

Petal Kiss is a pink/tan.

Overall: While I do like these in terms of finish and shades, I don’t like them quite as much as the High-Shine ones. These are drier and not as comfortable to wear. They do have a softer, more subdued appearance though so if you like more of a velvet/matte finish, you might like these.

Availability: Walmart and Walmart.com only.

Pricing: $6.98 for 0.12 oz.

What do you think about these shades and texture? Do you prefer a velvet finish or shinier?

  • Flamingo Flower looks really pretty! I do prefer my lipsticks to be more moisturizing, but I have a feeling I’ll be trying a lot of these new Flower products soon regardless.

  • OK I think I need Camelia Charm, So Gladiola, and Petal Kiss… although maybe I should just try one first, to make sure they work with my super dry lips

  • I like high shine, so I’d just end up putting a gloss on over these. Pretty colors though!

Hey lady! I just wanted to let you know Camelia Charm and So Gladiola are switched – CC is the pale pink and SG is the peach. Great review as always!

    • Hmm not according to my tubes and on their website. Camelia Charm is a peachy shade and So Gladiola is a pale pink.

I double-checked my own tubes and the website. You can also see by googling swatches. Sorry I’m being so persistent, but I just would hate for someone to blind-order the wrong shade by accident.

  • I’m very into velvety/matte finishes lately. Shinier lip products or with more slip bother me, not sure why haha

  • I’m not a huge fan of matte/velvet finishes, so I’d skip these. However, I’ve been loving many products from this new line by Drew.

  • These are actually very pretty. Camelia Charm and So Gladiola are my favorites. I don’t like the dry feeling that some lipsticks have since my lips tend to stay chapped and dry unfortunately but I think with some lipgloss, I’ll be just fine.

Glad I went with the high shines when I made my purchase! I feel like the high shine colors are more interesting.

  • Ooh, thanks for the post! I knew Drew Barrymore was coming out with her own cosmetics line, but I didn’t realize it had already been released. I can’t say I’m excited about going to Wal-Mart, but I will definitely be checking these out.

  • Flamingo Flower is really pretty. Bought two of the lip butters today but passed on all the lipsticks. Nothing really jumped out at me.

I really love how the one I have is the flamingo something or another. After looking at the swatches it seems to look better, not as dry looking. Dont get me wrong i love love love matte, prefered texture, and i like matte like velvet llok with some silica powder or even pigment over a lipstick but some of those look dif kind of dry. But this one i have just feels so light for a matte shade. I like it looks and feels matte but i dont think i have ever had a matte that has seem like it was barely there and not smear!
