Urban Decay Naked Nail Kit Swatches & Review

Urban Decay Naked Nail Kit

Happy Monday!

Today I’ve got the latest from Urban Decay which is the Naked Nail Kit. This kit features six new mini-bottles that were inspired by their Naked palette.

Urban Decay Naked Nail Kit 2

Urban Decay Naked Nail Kit 3

Urban Decay Naked

Naked is a beige/nude creme with just a very slight hint of shimmer in certain lighting. I got complete coverage in two coats.

Urban Decay Sidecar

Sidecar is a warm nude/pink with silver micro-glitter. I used two coats for this one for complete coverage. The finish is a little bumpy because of the glitter.

Urban Decay Toasted

Toasted is a slightly frosty/shimmery pinkish beige. This was just two coats. Not a huge fan of the finish on this one personally.

Urban Decay Smog

Smog is a metallic copper with gold shimmer. Now THIS shade I love! So pretty, and nice coverage in just two coats.

Urban Decay Hustle

Hustle is a warm metallic eggplant with shimmer. Nice shade, nice coverage in two coats.

Urban Decay Creep

Creep has a dark grey/black background with heavy silver glitter. This one was a bit sheer and watery so I did need three coats to build it up to where I wanted.

Overall: Since I am not much of a fan of the “nude” nail polish look, the first three weren’t my favorites, but they had a nice formula. The last three were more my style, especially Smog!

Availability: Online now, in stores February 1st.

Pricing: $26.00 (0.16 oz each).

What do you think of the Naked Nail Kit?

Note: Urban Decay is cruelty free.

I like Smog and Hussle! Big surprise since I like those eyeshadows as well čśë I wish Creep would be closer to its eyeshadow sister though. There’s no bumpy glitter in that!

    Hustle is gorge!

  • January 7, 2013

Nice concept, I like that there’s nail polish matches for some of my favorite eyeshadows drom the palette… but the bottles are way too tiny. The eyeshadows will let you do months worth of makeup, the polishes wouldn’t likely give you more than a couple of manicures each

  • January 7, 2013

I’m not a huge nude nail fan but I find that I actually like this collection quite a bit. Toasted is my favorite eye shadow but my least favorite polish. It seems very bland. Hustle and smog on the other hand are gorgeous!

I like these but I hate mini bottles so it’s a pass for me. Wish UD would do full sized polishes again, I’d buy them in a heartbeat.

  • January 7, 2013

Love Smog and Hussle but I’d have to agree that tiny bottles and sets aren’t my thing. I’d much prefer larger single bottles. I would buy those two in a heartbeat if they were sold separately.

  • January 7, 2013

Nice little set- pretty good value. Seems like maybe UD is testing the waters with this- if it does well then we get more nail polish from them? I am with you, nude nails are not my favorite, just a palette cleanser after I have been wearing dark shades for awhile. Smog and Hustle look fab on you! thanks for the swatches

  • January 7, 2013

I’m so glad I actually don’t like any of these. Definitely money saved :)

  • January 7, 2013

I really like Smog! It’s my favorite from the set. My least favorite was Toasted. That frosty mauvey-brown was just not to my taste.

They are all pretty, with Creep being the weakest of the bunch for me. I like nude nail looks and since these lean on the warm side, they would work nicely for me.

Really like smog and hustle. The others are just meh.

  • January 7, 2013

The nudes are pretty but I assume they can look quite different on different skin tones, as with any nude! Hustle looks absolutely gorgeous though!

  • January 7, 2013

Urban Decay needs to stop doing minis and start doing the full size bottles they used to do!
    Boy do I miss those.

  • January 7, 2013

Sorry, but I remember when Urban Decay Polish = Awesome.

These are boring. One million colors just like them from everyone else, tiny size, steep price… no

  • January 7, 2013

I’m glad I held off on purchasing this until I saw it in the store. Such tiny bottles with such a big price tag! For that amount of money I could buy the Chanel or Illamasqua full sized bottles instead.

I like Hustle and Smog. If only those were in individual, full-sized bottles! I would buy them in a heartbeat. A tiny set of tiny bottles? No bueno.

  • January 7, 2013

Not a huge fan. Hustle is probably my favorite but I wouldn’t pay $26 for the whole kit. Thanks for swatching it!

Smog is gorgeous, but not enough to make me buy the whole thing. Thanks for swatching, K!

Toasted and Smog are very pretty, but the small bottles and the other colors make the set not worth the price tag. Thanks for the swatches!

I really don’t see the price being a huge issue but I’m not a fan of Creep, so I don’t know if it’d still be worth it to buy the set. I wish they’d come out with full size products because I do like the nude colors a lot.

  • January 7, 2013

Toasted is actually my favorite! I don’t have anything like that in my collection yet. The color reminds me of a pumpkin spice latte :)

Toasted is a definite fail but there’s always ONE lemon in an Urban Decay nail kit. Otherwise pretty good.

  • January 8, 2013

I love the whole “naked” concept that UD is bringing on…I own the naked palette 1 and I love it, but these nail polishes seem way too warm for my skin shade… love the swatches though!

  • January 8, 2013

To be honest I’m not so much intrigued by this set. I love UD and UD Naked palette, but to be true I expected something more and something new from these polishes.
That’s better for my wallet čśÇ

Love the colors in this kit. I actually purchased myself as well. A great kit to pair up with my beloved Naked palette.

This is one nail polish kit I would definitely purchase. I absolutely love love love the idea of the Naked eyeshadows in nail polish form… every single one of these shades would get lots of use from me, but most especially the lighter shades. I love Naked, altho I do wish it were a bit more cool like the shadow.

I wish they came in trios, I want just the darker ones!

  • January 11, 2013

There seems to be a bit of variation in Creep (which is disappointing for an expensive set). My bottle of Creep is almost opaque in one coat!

  • January 11, 2013

Starting to like this set more. I enjoy nude nail polish because it looks natural but its not as over done as French tips so its a nice alternative if you want something a little different yet still professional. Also it seems like I am one of the few who prefers mini bottles…I’d rather have a shitload of different polish colors in tiny ass bottles than only a few in big bottles. I don’t change my nail color too often (once every two to three weeks usually) so most of my big bottles expire and go to waste! :(
