Urban Decay Ammo Palette for 2013 Swatches & Review

Urban Decay Ammo Palette Urban Decay Ammo Palette for 2013 Swatches & Review

Urban Decay Ammo Palette is new this season and contains ten of their best selling eyeshadow shades as well as a travel-sized Primer Potion.

Inside the palette you will also find a mirror and a mini Good Karma Shadow Brush (no sponge-tipped applicator!) and the ten eyeshadows. The outside is silver and has a cool purple skull on it, which was inspired by a museum exhibit that founder Wende saw. Look closely at the skull and you will see it’s comprised of various animals, flowers, swords and symbols.

Smog, Mildew, Oil Slick, Last Call, Chopper (over primer)

Over a primer all of these had excellent payoff. They are soft and blend easily.

Smog is a medium/deep bronze/copper.

Mildew is a mossy green with gold shimmer.

Oil Slick is a matte black with silver glitter.

Last Call is a metallic plum.

Chopper is a copper with silver micro-glitter.

Maui Wowie, Shattered, Polyester Bride, Grifter, Sin (over primer)

I had great payoff with all of these as well over a primer.

Maui Wowie is a metallic taupe/gold with silver glitter.

Shattered is a gorgeous turquoise with a gold shift depending on lighting. One of my favs from UD.

Polyester Bride is a shimmery white with silver glitter.

Grifter is a pale lavender with silver glitter.

Sin is a pink champagne shimmer.

Overall: If you don’t already own a lot of these shades then I think this makes a nice little palette. Good range of colors and finishes, though I do wish there was 1 or 2 more mattes with no glitter.

Availability: February 1st at Sephora, Ulta, Urban Decay.

Pricing: $34.00.

This isn’t new. It’s an updated version of the old Ammo palette with their new formula. I have the original and I LOVE it, an this updated version looks just as pretty! Plus they dropped the price by $4.

  • I’m always so tempted by UD’s palettes but I too wish they had more mattes, I have enough shimmery shades for how often I actually wear makeup. Their packaging is always so nice though.

  • I already have the old one so I probably wouldn’t get this one. The new design on it looks very nice though!

  • I really like the color of Maui Wowie, but I am not a big fan of micro glitter. If they ever make a shade without that glitter, I’d be all over it!

I very much like this set and will probably buy it. I also love the fact the mini primer is the squeeze tube and not the horrendous wand tube!

  • I really like this! But I agree that I wish there were more mattes. Glitters and shimmers can be pretty but I don’t like using them everyday. I tend to save those for nights out or special occasions but for work and school I lean towards mattes, but I only own 2 shades in this palette so I think it’s a good package and looks like it’ll be good for traveling as well.

I can’t wait! I see several colors that are going to look fantastic on me. I hope it’s purse and travel sized like the naked basics palette is.

I love the packaging! I like the mix of shades as well. I’m just super cheap especially since I rarely wear any makeup these days.

  • Wow, this looks awesome! I wonder what the greens would look like on the eyes. I might have to head to Sephora to grab this when it comes out :)

  • i got this one. I checked carefully among my other UD palette if i already owned most of the colors.
I remember the original Ammo palette. it is currently on sale at the Urban Decay website. i was totally going to return it to Sephora in exchange for the cheaper one online but i really like the packaging, the brush and the sample of the primer potion.
I really wish Maui Wowi and chopper did not have so much fallout.
