MAC Mineralize Volcanic Ash Exfoliator AKA The Best Scrub on Earth

MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliator

You may have heard by now that MAC Mineralize Volcanic Ash Exfoliator is now part of their permanent collection. And to this I say THANK GOD.

This is the stuff dreams are made of. Well you know, if you have dreams of exfoliators and earthy scents.

I discovered this stuff oh maybe three years ago now and was hooked the second I opened the tube and caught a whiff of it. It’s very hard to describe but it smells exactly like you would imagine volcanic ash would smell like. Minus the possible lingering sulfur. šŸ˜‰ It’s very earthy and rich but not a fake earthy. And not earthy like plants earthy (think Aveda). Just trust me, it’s fantastic.

But it’s not just a lovely scent, the product is great! What is this black gritty looking stuff anyway? Well it’s a mineralized cleanser and exfoliator that uses natural volcanic ash and sugar crystals. They are fairly fine, so it doesn’t hurt when you use it. It’s not scratchy or harsh at all.

I use it 1-2 times a week in the shower usually (it’s a bit messy) and my skin feels super clean and really smooth afterwards, without it being dry. It’s suitable for all skin types and you can use it all over your body, not just face.

Up until now I have only used it on my face because I was kind of hoarding my last tube, which I got at a local CCO awhile ago. I didn’t want to waste precious scrubs on my arms! But now that I know I can get it anytime, this might become my go-to all-around exfoliating scrub!

Availability: MAC.

Pricing: $28.00 for 3.4 oz.

Have you tried this previously cult-status exfoliator?

Note: MAC is not cruelty free.

    I LOVE IT!

I has been my staple ever since it has first been released with the Style Black collection back in 2009. I bought a new tube (and a backup šŸ˜‰ last year and I praise the Lord that it is now permanent!

The key when using this peeling is to massage it on your face until the little grains have dissolved.

I’ve yet to see a negative review on this product, I will add it to my list of “must try”.

While I haven’t seen much in the way of negative reviews of this stuff yet, it’s not something on my “must have” list. I can make my own scrubs that work just as nicely and are cheaper and all-natural :)

I’m glad this is now permanent because I’ve loved it ever since getting my first when it was originally released.

I use it too and I even got a back up before it was permanent. I have VERY sensitive skin but I don’t have any problems with it. The scent is nice and the skin feels perfect!!! I totally love it and I’m happy dancing knowing that now it’s not LE!!!
