MAC The Stylish Brow Collection Swatches & Review

MAC The Stylish Brow is a new collection all about keeping your brows in perfect form.
The collection features four different forms of brow shades for redheads, blondes and brunettes of all colors. It includes Brow Duo powders in Blonde (Omega, Soba), Redhead (Cork, Espresso) and Brunette (Coquette, Brun). Also inside are five Veluxe Brow Liners which are a pencil that come in shades Strawberry Blonde (Soft muted beige-taupe), Redhead (Soft brown), Brunette (Muted mid-tone grey), Deep Brunette (Muted blackish-brown) and Deep Dark Brunette (Dark dirty chocolate). Finally last but not least are the new Fluidline Brow Gelcremes in shades Dirty Blonde (Soft taupe brown), Deep Dark Brunette (Rich brunette) and Redhead (Muted golden brown).
Also included in the collection is Eye Brows pencil in Lingering (Soft taupe brown), slanted tweezers and #208 angled brush.

The Veluxe Brow Liner pencils are dual-ended featuring the brow color on one end and a mini-spoolie on the other end. They are somewhat hard in texture, but it’s not hard to get good pigmentation. I like that they are a little harder rather than too soft, which can mean they smear easily or look “fuzzy”.
Redhead is a warm light/medium taupe shade.
Deep Brunette is a deep cool-toned black/brown.
Deep Dark Brunette is a cool toned chocolate brown.

The Brow Duos each feature two satin and/or matte eyeshadow shades. For me, Omega, which is in the Blonde set (which I don’t have) was my go-to brow color for over a decade. I used it wet usually and loved how taupe-y and cool-toned it looked. I swatched these ones dry, so they aren’t as pigmented as they could be. Up to you how you would wear them.
Brunette features Coquette (satin) and Brun (satin). Both are cool-toned shades, which I most definitely prefer. Even though I have very pale beige-blonde hair, I like a dark, strong brow shade, so I would use these for sure.
Redhead features Cork (satin) and Espresso (matte). I had a hell of a time getting Cork to show up very well. It isn’t very pigmented when used dry on the hand. Espresso is a medium/deep warm brown.

Fluidline Brow Gelcreme in Redhead and Dirty Blonde

Redhead, Dirty Blonde
The Fluidline Brow Gelcremes are super pigmented, creamy brow shades. A very, very small amount goes a LONG way. I was really surprised how intense these were!
Redhead is a light, warm toned brown.
Dirty Blonde is a medium taupe brown on the warmer side.

Here’s my naked brow.

And here it is filled in with Fluidline Brow Gelcreme in Dirty Blonde. As mentioned I got excellent pigmentation and it was really easy to apply. Super creamy and nice texture. Dries fairly quickly. This shade is deep enough for me, but just looks way too warm for my preference.
Overall: I think the Brow Duos are a great idea, but the eyeshadow shades seem a little patchier than the singles tend to be. Using them wet will make a difference though, and that’s what I normally do with them. The Veluxe Brow Liners are pretty good pencils and I like that they come with a spoolie on one end. My favorite product (if I can find my right shade) is the Fluidline Brow Gelcremes because they are so creamy and pigmented.
Availability: Online now. In stores January 10th through February 7th.
Pricing: Veluxe Brow Liner ($16 for 0.042 oz), Brow Duo ($27.50 for 0.09 oz), Fluidline Brow Gelcreme ($16 for 0.10 oz).
See anything here you want to try out? What is your preferred method of brow color?

OOO brow products! I’m always in for brow products! For the moment I fill them in with an eyeshadow (Bobbi Brown Sable), but I keep thinking I need something a bit waxy to keep all the hair in place. I have REALLY sparse eyebrow hair, but whatever I have seems to grow in the wrong direction. The Gelcremes look super interesting for sure!

Lately I am really liking the whole gel thing for brows, but I do prefer the MUFE ones to these. Mainly because I didn’t see my shade here!
I’m dying to try these cremes, but I’m a little annoyed by the fact that they are so warm? “Brun” is a good brow color for me if I want a dark, prominent brow, but if I want to look more natural I need something lighter – and I prefer cool toned colors on myself…

Yeah I hear ya, most of the ones I got were too warm for me also. Maybe the shades I didn’t get sent were the cooler ones?
I really like the look of the fluidline brow gelcremes texturewise, but the colors look too warm for me, alas.
I don’t remember if you’ve reviewed MUFE Aqua Brow – if you have, how do the texures compare?

I did actually! I prefer the MUFE because A. The shade I got (#10) was perfectly taupe and cool for me and B. They are pigmented but not SO pigmented that you can easily overdo it, like with these. These don’t dry as quickly though, so you have more time to work and play around than with the MUFE ones.
The Fluidline Brow Gelcremes look very interesting, can’t wait to check them out in person!
Might try the red head Fluidline Gelcreme, but the others look fairly mediocre. Its surprisingly hard to find good red brow products! I’ve been liking Nyx’s Red/Auburn Brow Cake though.

I agree with you – the Fluidlines for Brows definitely are what looks best to me!

The brow gel color looks a little intimidating. Especially if a little goes a long way. I suppose it would be something to have to do a few times to get it right. I think I may be picking up the darker of the the 2 shades. It looks to inneresting to pass up lol.
