Clinique Lucky Penny Color Surge Eye Shadow Swatches & Review

I’ll be honest, Clinique isn’t really a makeup brand that is on my radar much. I have used some of their moisturizers for ever, but barely have any actual makeup from them. However when I was at the local CCO a couple weeks ago I couldn’t pass up this gorgeous shimmery shadow I saw called Lucky Penny.
Lucky Penny is from their Color Surge Eye Shadow Super Shimmer line. It’s a bronze/pink shade with lots of shimmer, but not the loose glittery kind of shimmer. No, this is much nicer.

Lucky Penny
Lucky Penny isn’t just a shimmery pinky bronze but also a bit metallic. I’ve been wearing it in some of my full face photos lately and a few people have been asking about it. What I really like about the shade is it’s a really warm and flattering color. Natural, but not boring or invisible looking. The texture is super soft and very pigmented. A little goes a long way and it’s really easy to blend out. It looks particularly great with a peachy pink blush and gloss (like my beloved Bobbi Brown Pink Gold).

Lucky Penny (also wearing Tarte Tinted BB Treatment in Light, bareMinerals The Natural High Blush and Bobbi Brown Pink Gold Gloss)
Overall: Pretty, pigmented, flattering, warm and nice!
Availability: Nordstrom, Sephora, Clinique.
Pricing: $15.00 for .07 oz.
Is Lucky Penny your kind of shade?
-Kelly
Note: Clinique is not cruelty free.

It’s been a long time since I’ve worn this. I used to get so many compliments on it too. I’ve got to pull it out – thanks for the reminder!

I have one Clinique eyeshadow. I’ve had it for years but I didn’t remember the name of it. I remember I really loved it and used to get asked a lot what I had on when I wore it.
Just checked and yes – it’s Lucky Penny!!
Clinique always make me smile..
makes me think about when I first bought my very own eye shadow duo. <3
The color is really pretty! Simple every day wear.

It’s been years since I purchased a clinique eyeshadow but I found them to be very high quality. One of the few eyeshadows I ever usedup was from clinique. I wish they were still cruelty-free

This must be an underground favorite. I rediscovered this color a few months back when going through my stash. Pulled it out and loved it during summer. Guess I’m not alone. I received mine in a clinique gift with purchase.
btw, hi, VV! I haven’t commented in FOREVER, but I have still been reading!

Hi! Glad you are still around!
Oh I like this color a lot! I wonder if it would look good with my brown eyes…..
Oo..I think that I need to add this one to my wish list. It’s GORGEOUS!
So gorgeous! I love the way it looks combined with that blush/ lip color!!
Oh my! I have worn “Lucky Penny” since high school. This is so weird that you posted this because I recently found it buried under my Mac shadows and UD Nakeds and have worn it every day since. It’s so pretty for work and super long lasting. Yayyyyyy!
I love this shade, it works really well with Clinique’s rum spice shadow as a crease color.
