Anastasia Bold and Beautiful Kit for Spring 2013 Swatches & Review

Anastasia Bold and Beautiful Kit

Anastasia Bold & Beautiful Kit for spring 2013 is all about the eyes.

This book-like set features two palettes. First is Bold Brows, which includes a Brow Powder and tinted Pomade, as well as a mini dual-ended brush and mini tweezers. The other palette is Beautiful Eyes and includes four eyeshadows and a dual-ended applicator brush.

The shadows don’t have individual names. All are really nicely pigmented and feel soft and easy to work with. They are all on the warm side, but still pretty neutral for a wide variety of skin tones I think.

The first shade is a light nude/peach matte. Great for using as a highlight or otherwise.

The second shade is a pretty and pigmented shimmery peachy pink. My favorite one.

Third is a medium tan/brown with tiny gold glittery bits. The glitter is pretty subtle but be wary of fallout.

Finally we have a dark blackened/brown with copper colored micro-glitter. Amazingly pigmented and rich. Gorgeous shade.

The Bold Brows kit has one medium cool-toned ashy taupe shade and a deep brown pomade to set the brows. This shade happens to be really great for me because it’s ashy and cool enough. The pomade doesn’t really change the brow shade much, just helps keep brows in place. Nice pigmentation here and the mini tweezers and brush are cute and useable!

Overall: Nice set here, I liked everything I tried out. The one thing I don’t love is while the packaging is cute, it’s not very practical. I feel like there is a lot of extra empty cardboard space in the palettes, and they could have still done the book set thing but smaller, which would have made it easier to travel with and store.

Availability: Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom on February 5th.

Pricing: $36.00.

How do you feel about packaging like this? Wasted space or worth it for the look?

Note: Anastasia is cruelty free.

From a quality point of view, I’ve always liked Anastasia, but after trying several of her palettes, I have to say they do play it rather safe with the shades.

When I saw the term “bold”, I thought “finally, some brights!”. But alas…The shades are pretty & I’m sure they perform well, but how many neutral palettes does one really need?

That’s true, they definitely create mostly very wearable eye shadows. Sugarpill they are not! čśë

The black color is amazing but I a generally disappointed with this brand :/

      Awwww :/

I agree with you about the packaging. It’s too cumbersome and unnecessary. I am looking forward to trying out Anastasia products, though!

Love the eyeshadow colors but wish it wasn’t sold with the brow kit.

Pretty, but nothing too unique. I’ll have to pass on these.

That black color with the rose gold flakes is amazing. I love everything I have from Anastasia. For 36$ this little kit seems well worth it considering the brow powder alone is 20$ plus tweezers, 2 brushes, and 4 eyeshadows. Wish they would have included their clear gel, but still the kit is a great value! Thanks for the review! :)

Sorry but Im not at all impressed.Im a little tired of the same nude colors, but that’s just MY opinion Im sure many people find them pretty.

I like the shadows a lot and the brow colors look good. I personally don’t love packaging that just takes up space, I much much prefer sleek and compact packaging, although I guess overall this is still a relatively small product so at least it’s not bulky or anything

That peach shade is GORGEOUS! It’s so perfect for spring/summer. I also love the copper glitter in the deep brown shade.

This is the first Anastasia palette that I think I would seek out. It’s comparable in price to the Benefit brow palette which I currently use, but you get 4 eye shadows as well! The only items I use in the Benefit brow palette are the brow shadow and wax pomade, but with the Anastasia set I would definitely use the eye shadows as they are colors I veer towards anyhow.

Ohh I just love that second shade! It kind of reminds me of Lancome Kitten Heel, but not quite as duo chrome? It’s a little more orange.. I think a nice peachy color is hard to find, but I agree with you on the space thing. They could have fit more, or had smaller packaging.
