Estee Lauder Pretty Naughty Spring 2013 Collection Swatches & Review

It is grey, cold and pouring rain as I look out my window while typing this. Yet despite the weather outside being frightful (get it?), it looks like spring has seriously sprung inside at Vampy Varnish headquarters with the new Estee Lauder Pretty Naughty spring 2013 collection!
We have only just eked into winter but my mind is far beyond that. I’m thinking of pale blues, bright pinks and soft lavenders…Some of my favorite makeup and clothing colors come out in the spring, so call this woman excited for what’s ahead!

Illuminating Powder Gelée Blush in Tease

Illuminating Powder Gelée Blush in Tease

Pure Color Intense Kajal Eyeliner Duo in Black and Blue

Intense Kajal Eyeliner Duo Blue & Black, Cheek Gelée in Tease
Intense Kajal Eyeliner Duo features a pale matte blue on one end and a jet black on the other. The blue is a wee bit chalky, but the black is very creamy and deep.
Illuminating Powder Gelée Blush in Tease is a soft, shimmery pink, perfect as a blush or highlighter. It consists of a liquid, powder and gel, which is what makes it a “gelée”. You can build it up nicely creating a more intense look if you wish. Great pigmentation.

Pure Color Nail Color in Insatiable

Insatiable
Insatiable is a muted, murky purple creme. This has a very greyed out understated look to it, which I like. It applied fairly thin at first but you only need two coats for complete coverage. Unique? Probably not.

Pure Color Sheer Matte Lipstick

Pure Color Sheer Matte Lipstick Demure, Rock Candy, Naked, Rebel

Pure Color Sheer Matte Lipstick Demure, Rock Candy, Naked, Rebel
The new Sheer Matte Lipsticks have a semi-matte finish and come in a really cool skinny twist-up tube. The have fruit extract which is supposed to help moisturize lips, but they feel on the dry side to my parched lips. If I were to wear these for awhile I would need a more moisturizing lip balm under them. But overall the colors are super fun, bright and nicely pigmented.
Demure is a bright fuchsia pink.
Rock Candy is a medium coral.
Naked is a pale peach.
Rebel is a somewhat frosty flamingo pink.

Pure Color Five Color Eyeshadow Palette in Pretty Naughty

Pure Color Five Color Eyeshadow Palette in Pretty Naughty

Pure Color Five Color Eyeshadow Palette in Pretty Naughty (over primer)
Pure Color Five Color Eyeshadow Palette in Pretty Naughty features five eyeshadow shades, three of them pastels and two more natural shades.
Upper left is a pale blue pastel matte.
Upper right is a medium taupe.
Lower right is a medium lavender.
Lower left is a bright, pale pink.
Middle is a smoky charcoal grey shimmer.
Over a primer, I got really good payoff with all of these shades. I was very happy that the blue wasn’t chalky as I had expected. I love all of these shades in one palette, I think they all go very well together.
Overall: I am definitely jonesing for spring now! My favorite items here are the eyeshadow palette, cheek color and nail color. I like the lipsticks also, but feel they are a bit drying on me. The eyeliner is just ok because the blue wasn’t as creamy and opaque as I would like.
Availability: January 2013 exclusively on Estee Lauder’s site.
Pricing: Eyeshadow Palette ($48), Kajal Eyeliner Duo ($23), Gelée Blush ($40), Sheer Matte Lipstick ($25), Nail Color ($20).
What do you think about Pretty Naughty? Is there anything here you will be checking out?

I love this collection, it makes me excited for Spring.

I think the eyeshadow palette is my favourite, that blue is just beautiful. I agree that the nail polish is not very unique and not worth the $25 that it costs here in Canada.

I’m most excited for the blush in this collection. I can’t wait to try it out. I’m loving the pastel blue that’s included and I hope there’s a nail polish to match. Insatiable is pretty but it reminds me of Zoya Kelly. Lol
WOW: Illuminating Powder Gelée Blush in Tease~ Looks so amazing! This entire collection looks great. Never been a Estee fan, but might have to try them out!

This is the whole collection, so no blue nail polish to match here. However, I have the spring Heavy Petals Nail Colors to swatch and there is a blue in that one…
I love the blush, but $40…wah. Although I find blushes to last a long time for me, so maybe it’s worth it.
I do like the blush color and the lippies. I wish their prices weren’t so high. But then, that’s why they call it ‘high-end’!

Oh wow, I’d like of everything particularly the polish and the blush!

Pastels really don’t work on me, so I can’t say this collection is very tempting to me, but it has a lot of interesting and new products, like the blush texture and lip sticks.

Wow, I think that they really dropped the ball on this collection. I’m not seeing anything that I would want. Everything looks so unflattering. =/

Thought I’d be most excited about the nail polish (hehe, wonder why!
), but I actually liked the way the blush looks in your photos the most. Even in the packaging, it’s very pretty – reminds me of a girly clutch with some edge.

Definitely excited for Spring now! Loving all of the Sheer Matte Lipsticks. Not sure I could ever pull of that blue liner but would be interested to see it in a look!

Meh, not impressed. I think I’ll pass on this collection. Pretty packaging, but boring products.
Was the blush brush effective or hard to work with?

I didn’t even try it, I use my own brushes because usually ones that come with these sets aren’t that great.
