Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palettes in Star-crossed & Starstruck Swatches & Review

Forgive me for my un-chattiness today. Here are pics and swatches of the two new Kat Von D True Romance Palettes in Star-Crossed and Starstruck.

Starstruck

Starstruck

Starstruck

Fallen, Unrequited, Hermit, Pagan Poetry (over primer)
Excellent payoff with all four of these shades, though the shadows don’t actually feel super soft to the touch.

Star-Crossed

Star-Crossed

Star-Crossed

Hyperballad, Scandinavian, Ville, Oceansize (over primer)
Really nice pigmentation with these as well and same slightly gritty finish.
Availability: Sephora.
Pricing: $20.00.
Yes, no, maybe so?

Note: Kat Von D is cruelty free (as far as I am aware).

Starcrossed looks awesome. I’ve never been disappointed with a KVD palette and I have at least 6 of them… great pics. Thanks!

Love the look of both palettes and stars are my absolute weakness! I will definitely pick up both of these as gifts for myself

Star-Crossed is definitely my favourite. All the shades are nice and wearable for me. I don’t think I would ever wear the yellow in Starstruck, so I probably wouldn’t ever buy that palette. I’m sure it looks good for some peoples skin tone, but not mine.

Hi everyone and happy Monday! Sorry for the…
I have such a knack for falling head-over-heels in love with one or two colours in a palette, then staunchly refusing to buy it because I dislike the other shades so much.
Unrequited and Hermit? Loooove.
Hyperballad and Ville? Looove.
Also, as a Bjork fan, I’m like. Names, much?
Glad I’m not the only one who noticed the names! As I think about it, she does a lot of songs/albums that would make great cosmetics names (it’s oh so quiet, amphibian, vespertine, cocoon, alarm call, army of me).
The second one is really lovely, just my kind of colors.

Wish there was more of a contrast between the browns in Starstruck, they look almost the same.

That’s a very good point as far as variety in a palette–makes it almost seem like an odd combination of colors. I didn’t even notice that at first. But to me, it’s just more of a good thing–I tend to hit pan in those types of browns.
The only reason I’m turning this down is bc of the grittiness–my eyelids are just way too sensitive. Even so, I’m going to be on the lookout to see if these will go on sale–I could always layer these on top of some sort of base.
Wow, I really love them both! I’ve never purchased Kat Von D palettes before, but these might just encourage me to pull the trigger!
I’m kind of surprised they cut the amount of shadows you get in half. I’ve always loved the 8 pan KVD Palettes.

Love these both. Beautiful. Might wear more throughout the second palette more though.
The colors in starcrossed are not my cuppa but I like the blues in starstruck…. When did KVD palettes get so small?!?

Like them but yeah, the two brown ones are too much alike!
Does anyone else find it hilarious that someone in and out of relationships as often as Kat Von D is calling her palettes True Romance?

Even being a big bronzy brown fan, none of these are particularly exciting to me. I guess mostly I just know I wouldn’t get much use from them

I have one KatVonD that I absolutely love. It’s got 8 shades in the brown family. Great pigmentation.
I love both palettes! They’re so gorgeous!
I’ll probably pick these up once they go on clearance in a few months
For once a cool-toned palette interests me more than a warm-toned one!
I picked up Star-crossed today at my Sephora on sale for $13!
