Hourglass has a couple new items out for fall and holiday 2012 and I’ve got some of them for ya this afternoon.
Film Noir Kohl Pencils are new for fall and come in two shades (Espresso and Eclipse) and are a long-wearing eye liner for lining the inner and outer eye. They come in a really long pencil which almost looks like a chopstick, and they also include a cap with a sharpener built in.
New for the holiday season is a lip set called Icon which features a gorgeous classic red shade in various formulas such as Femme Rouge Velvet Creme Lipstick, Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick, Extreme Sheen High Shine Lip Gloss (new), and Panoramic Long Wear Lip Pencil (new).

Icon Panoramic Long Wear Lip Pencil is a creamy bright cherry red. It has a brush on one end of the pencil, which is handy. This is a great easy to use red line, and perfect to use with the lip gloss.
Espresso Film Noir Kohl Pencil is a deep brown. It actually wasn’t as soft as I expected it to be. Usually when you see the name “kohl” you expect a lot of creaminess, but this was actually a bit hard. What I do like is that the tip is small so it’s really easy to get onto my inner rim and in-between my eyelashes. Also because it’s somewhat hard it doens’t get mushy fast, so no need to sharpen it after one usage. It stayed on my inner rim for only a couple hours at the most though, so not much more than a lot of other liners. It stayed on my upper lid all day with no smudges or issues (over a primer).
Icon Extreme High Shine Lip Gloss is a bright and opaque red. It’s a perfect blue-red, and very shiny. The applicator tip is a flat sponge which is easy to use, but I wish the wand was a bit shorter for more control. It has a slight minty smell and taste. This shade makes my teeth look super white!
Icon Lip Pencil & Lip Gloss
Overall: I’m not overly impressed with Espresso Kohl Eye Pencil. It’s a nice brown liner, but didn’t really live up to what they claimed which was that it’s was very creamy and lasts on the inner rim. Icon Lip Liner and Lip Gloss are great shades and nice textures, I recommend them both.
Pricing: Espresso ($28), Lip Pencil ($28), Lip Gloss ($28).
What do you think? Looking for a great red this holiday season?
