Buxom Time To Shine Buxom Time To Shine Mini Lip Collection for Holiday 2012 Swatches & Review

New this holiday season from Buxom is the 6-piece Time To Shine Mini Lip Collection.

Time To Shine features six small-sized glosses in both the Big & Healthy Lip Polish formula and Big & Healthy Lip Cream formula. Various finishes abound! The four Lip Polishes have a really nice brown sugar scent, and the two Lip Creams have no scent.

April, Berry Blast, White Russian, Sugar, Katie, Gina

April is a Lip Polish in a light sparkling pink. This feminine pink would work nicely with a smoky eye.

Berry Blast is a fuchsia Lip Cream. Bright but not overpowering because it’s somewhat sheer. A very wearable bright pink.

White Russian is a milky white/pink Lip Cream. This was my least favorite one because it settles into lip lines too much for me.

Sugar is a super shimmery pinky/peach Lip Polish. Great shade, nice pigmentation. My favorite one here.

Katie is a pale ballet pink shimmery Lip Polish. A bit sheer, but nice.

Gina is a bright strawberry pink sparkly Lip Polish. Nice pigmentation and pretty shade.

Overall: I am digging this set! I really like the texture of all these glosses because they are not sticky at all, and apply super smooth and silky-like. They feel slippery and really moisturizing on (they all contain vitamins A & E). There was only one shade I didn’t like in the set, which was White Russian. They do have that tingly plumping action to them, but it isn’t too powerful, and goes away after a few minutes. My favorites here are Berry Blast, Sugar and Gina.

Availability: Sephora.

Pricing: $29.00.

What do you think about this set? On your list? Have you tried Buxom lip glosses yet?

  • Berry Blast and White Russian are my favorites, because I prefer shimmer-free glosses. I’ve heard such good things about this formula!

I love Gina; it’s very pink but doesn’t cross into Barbie pink. All the other shades would disappear in 15 minutes on me, or make my lips look paler!

  • Buxom glosses are my absolute favorites! I considered this set during the Sephora VIB sale, but I have so many of the glosses already I decided not to indulge this time.

  • I wonder if they’ve reformulated these, because when I tried one (it was a few years ago, I think), I remember it having more of that burning sensation, like the Too Faced one. Sounds a lot better now. Pretty packaging too

  • These colours are pretty sweet, but I’m not a fan of White Russian, either. It looks very milky, but not in a good way. I find it’s hard to make those kind of formulas work.

Thanks for your awesome swatches! It’s tricky taking lip photos…at least it is for me.

Ah I’m sad to hear that White Russian is so milky. I don’t have a lot of lip lines but even so it would probably cling to dry patches or any imperfections. It’s such a pretty color I might try it anyway.

  • I LOVE the Buxom glosses and haven’t tried a color I don’t like (I haven’t tried the white russian personally, but it does look a little milky in the picture). The are all pretty sheer which allows your own lip color to come through a little bit so most of them will work for anyone! I will probably be picking up this set this year!

  • I was very disappointed to see that the time to shine lip gloss kit was not available! I just started using buxom myself and now my daughter is a big fan! I wanted to get it for her stocking!
Please let me know if there is any way I could order it!
    Thank you, Holly Stricker
