OPI Announces the Launch of Euro Centrale for Spring/Summer 2013.
Classic meets contemporary with Euro Centrale by OPI for Spring/Summer 2013. Celebrating a region where history meets modern design, the collection’s twelve new nail lacquers offer a mixture of glamorous metallic hues; playful bright shades in periwinkle, aqua and pink; and creamy blues in indigo, midnight and aubergine.
“Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Romania make up an exciting new fashion hotspot,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “When visiting these countries, you’ll view Gothic churches alongside vibrant graffiti murals, blending two very different aesthetics. This fusion of old and new was also seen in runway looks during New York Fashion Week, where classic styles were reinvented with modern silhouettes and patterns.
“Euro Centrale boasts a wide variety of shades, ranging from pale nude to deep blue – and featuring everything from shimmering copper to aqua in between!,” continues Weiss-Fischmann. “Whether you’re looking to spice up a black and white print, or add neutrality to a vivid brocade, these lacquers are designed to accessorize spring’s hottest looks.”
Euro Centrale by OPI includes the following shades:
- Polka.com – Blue and violet are dancing partners in this glittery combo.
- OPI…Eurso Euro – This deep blue cream is very continental.
- Suzi’s Hungary AGAIN! – Thank goodness there are zero calories in this warm and yummy pink!
- You’re Such a BudaPest – If I let you borrow this periwinkle-purple, will you go away?
- Can’t Find My Czechbook – I hope you take credit, because I must have this aqua!
- My Paprika is Hotter than Yours! – Get the extinguisher…this fiery red is sizzling!
- Hands Off My Kielbasa! – Get your own…this bronzy tan is all mine!
- OY–Another Polish Joke! – So this shimmery-gold walks into a bar…
- A Woman’s Prague-ative – I’m changing this shimmery copper for…never mind!
- Vant to Bite My Neck? – You know you want to…wear this deep eggplant.
- I Saw…U Saw…We Saw…Warsaw – Be seen in this deep midnight blue.
- My Vampire is Buff – Creamy, pale and nude…just how I like my vampires.

This is the most excited I’ve been for an OPI collection in a long time! I’m loving the lack of reds and pinks that have been dominating collections for the past little while.
Polka.com, You’re Such a BudaPest, Can’t Find My Czechbook, and My Vampire is Buff are the ones that jump out at first, but I can’t wait to see swatches!

I don’t think I can judge these by the promo pictures because the actual colors end up looking different from them. Polka.com seems amazing though!

The fourth one from the bottom looks interesting but the other ones look “meh”. Could be proven wrong from the actual swatches though.
Many of them look nice actually but it’s really hard to tell for sure before you see swatches.

Colors are pretty, I’m really interested in the pink – hope it will be close to honeysuckle color!
But I think some names are just too much. Again horny joke, like the one with knockwurst, abuse of popular vampire theme…and what’s up with “We saw…”, maybe I just don’t get it, but the name is too long and pretentious.
I wish OPI wouldn’t make puns of all the names, why can’t they be just cute and simple? Like some from the past collections.

I’ll quote myself: the name is too long and pretentious. What I don’t get is why use three pronouns, “we saw warsaw” would have sounded better.

High expectations from my part. I’ve seen bottle pictures and yes… it looks like a great collection. But it’s still too early and I want to enjoy every bit of the winter and holidays collections before spring gets here!

From the promo pictures they look gorgeous. Some polishes look so different once you get them on your fingers but I’m liking all of the colors in this collection. Too many gorgeous polishes are coming out lately!

I love it! I’m from Warsaw and buying these just for the names!
I always fall for colors like “Hands Off My Kielbasa,” but they always give me crab claws.
Pun names were fun when OPI was the only big company doing them, but now it seems like every company uses them, and they seem contrived and cliché. It’s OPI’s thing, of course, so I doubt they’ll change their naming culture. And at least there aren’t any overtly sexual names (Nars, I’m looking at you. I never want to tell someone I’m wearing G-Spot on my face).
