I LOVE Marilyn Monroe & have a tonnage of books on her. I also LOVE makeup! So I don’t know whether to feel ecstatic that MAC came out w/a bunch of stuff w/her picture on it; or, irritated that I now feel like I HAVE to get some of this stuff & spend a bunch of money. LOL

I’m planning on getting the beauty powder, all the lipsticks, and the blush from the online launch…then whatever I can’t live without I’ll purchase backups of when they launch at Macy’s, along with maybe a nail polish or two, budget allowing

Marilyn Monroe’s makeup is one of my favorite styles ever, so even though I’m not supporting MAC since their animal testing policy changed, I was still very interested to see this collection. It’s totally different than I expected – I guess they were trying to do a more modern take, but I feel like they kind of lost the essence of Marilyn… the things that made her iconic. It would’ve been so cool if they’d created products that went along with the many amazing makeup tips and tricks she used or colors that were more true to what she wore. I guess it was probably challenge, trying to balance being true to her image while creating something new and modern, but I can’t help but feel like they’re kind of just cashing in on her name/the fad

Every time I see Marilyn’s image on something, I think of the book “Blonde” by Joyce Carol Oates. It’s a fictionalized account of Marilyn’s life, but I can’t help but think she captured some true essence in it.

I looooove Marilyn Monroe. I’m quite young but I love her movies & think she is epitome of what beautiful is. I don’t keep up too much with MAC collections but I think I may have to pick up a few things from this one.

Yes to all the red lipsticks and the blushes and the beauty powder lol.
this is by far, one of the best collections they’ve released so far. I like so many of shades from this range. but they could have done marilyn justice with the packaging, she has waaay more beautiful pictures than the one they used.

Wooo, so many pretty items! The eye shadows look lovely. I’m loving that there a bunch of lacquers to choose from, but I’ll reserve any decision making until I see swatches. MAC is so hit and miss when it comes to nail polish!
