butter LONDON Autumn/Winter 2012 Swatches & Review
This autumn/winter, butter LONDON is bringing us five new nail lacquers inspired by the fall runway shows. These nail lacquers all feature various “textures” similar to the fall clothing.
- Dodgy Barnett – silver holographic
- Gobsmacked – charcoal grey glitter
- Lovely Jubbly – magenta multi-glitter
- Shag – coppery metallic
- Trustafarian – sage green holographic
Let’s take a peek at the couple I have for ya.
Dodgy Barnett, Shag
Dodgy Barnett
Dodgy Barnett is a greyish/silver holographic. The formula was really thin and a bit sheer, but easy to build up. You do get near complete nail coverage after three thin coats. The holographic effect is medium/strong with this shade. It’s nice, but I feel like I have seen this shade as a holographic a lot recently.
Shag
Shag is a strong and deep copper metallic. Yum! Gorgeous shade. Really rich and perfect for autumn. The formula was really nice, it wasn’t streaky at all and covered in two coats. I think this might be a copper I don’t own a dupe for!

Gorgeous! I love copper polish too, it’s always so perfect for fall. I don’t have any holos yet, so I’m loving Dodgy Barnett too!

Shag is a polish that intrigues me, but I have no idea if copper is a colour that looks good on me. I don’t usually buy a lot in that shade, but I agree, it’s a perfect shade for autumn!

Shag looks a bit too frosty for me. I have a ton of bronzy coppers already from a # of older fall and holiday collections. I used to wear ‘em a lot then they fell out of popularity – hitting again this yr as have seen a # of ‘em. DB is a little too pale for me right now.
I now have 3 Butter London polishes. By and large, I love the color range– I feel like there’s a lot of shades that are unique. But they chip SO fast on me. I’ve been told that they work better with BL basecoat, but it bothers me that they’re so expensive AND you probably have to buy an expensive basecoat to boot. Boo.
Shag is lovely.
Wow, both are beautiful! The holo is not all that unique, but I love it nonetheless! Shag is really pretty for fall. I don’t own anything like it so I’ll have to pick it up!

Pretty, but nothing I haven’t seen before from other brands. There seems to be a lot of copper-y colors out lately, and the grey/silver one is just to… plain for me.

I just picked up Shag and one other shade at Ulta (buy one get one free, today only!). Glad to see it looks as good on as it does in the bottle!
I thought I would never say that, but i prefer Deutsch you want me baby from the OPI Germany Collection to butter LONDON Shag. It is more vibrant and more fall in my eyes… but I was destined to hate all the Germany polishes because of those stupid, stupid names!
My fav from the bL collection is Lovely Jubbly btw. It is so glittery and pretty, made me happy by just wearing it!!
