Nail Art Trends for Fall 2012

Nail Art Trends Nail Art Trends for Fall 2012

Nail art is pretty huge right now and I have the inside scoop on the biggest trends for this fall.

I can pretty much guarantee that you won’t see these nails anywhere else yet…

Salt & Pepper Nails

Salt Pepper Nails 3 Nail Art Trends for Fall 2012

First up is what I call Salt & Pepper Nails.

You can find the ingredients for this look pretty much anywhere. All you need is a clear base coat, table salt and pepper.

Salt & Pepper Nails

This is a very simple black and white look. It’s for the person who doesn’t want a lot of color in their wardrobe. You can make it edgier by using sea salt or even peppercorns if you have them! This was two sprinkles of salt and one of pepper.

Potting Soil Nails

Potting Soil Nails 3 Nail Art Trends for Fall 2012

Next up is a more daring look called Potting Soil Nails.

This is done with two coats of a dark chocolate brown polish like Color Club Rebel Spirit and plain potting soil straight from the bag.

Potting Soil Nails are more of a daring look than Salt & Pepper Nails. It’s more of a monotone look, but has a lot of nice texture to it. You can see little flecks of lighter brown soil within, which gives it a nice contrast. It almost has a velvety appearance. This was two coats of Rebel Spirit and two sprinkles of potting soil.

Jack’s Bar-B-Que Spice Rub Nails

Jacks Bar B Que Hand Rub 3 Nail Art Trends for Fall 2012

For those looking for more of a pop of color I give you Jack’s Bar-B-Que Spice Rub Nails.

You will need to use this excellent rub from Jack’s in Tennessee, but luckily they have online ordering. You will also need a burnt orange creme polish like Duri Cognac.

Jack’s Bar-B-Que Spice Rub Nails is perfect for fall because it looks like the colors of the turning leaves. The spice rub is infused with many ingredients which are various colors, which gives it really nice dimension. You get flecks of black, orange and yellow mostly. This was two coats of Duri Cognac and two shakes of Jack’s Bar-B-Que Spice Rub.

Sesame Seed Nails

Sesame Seed Nails 3 Nail Art Trends for Fall 2012

Finally we have Sesame Seed Nails, for the super fashion forward woman.

For this look you will need a jar of regular sesame seeds and China Glaze Kalahari Kiss. You could also use black sesame seeds for a different look.

Sesame Seed Nails

Sesame Seed Nails is more of a fashion forward look because of the edgy base coat color. It’s the color of old computer CPU’s and only the truly brave can pull this off. The similar colored sesame seeds makes it look almost like a tone on tone look, but with a lot of texture.

This was two coats of China Glaze Kalahari Kiss and one layer of sesame seeds.

Wrap-up: So as you can see, there are some pretty cool trends happening this fall. Not only are these nails cool looking, but fairly easy to do at home for the person who isn’t too artistically inclined.

Which of these are trends do you think you would try out?

-Kelly

They are now marketing a “velvet” manicure which is essentially flocking powder on your nails something nail art bloggers have been doing for a while now :(
