Love that song, had to download it the first time I ever heard it. In case you are confused it’s the theme song to True Blood. And this fall Deborah Lippmann is treating us to three limited edition True Blood inspired collections.
First up is the Forsaken Lip & Nail Duet.. This set includes Let It Bleed nail lacquer and Bite Me lip color. The nail lacquer is actually scented with the fragrance Forsaken, which is a deep jasmine/woodsy scent. It definitely fits in with the True Blood theme. The lipstick has a very strong notable scent as well.
Let It Bleed
Let It Bleed is a very deep blackened red creme. It applies very nicely, barely any streaks. After three thin coats it builds up to a gorgeous color with tons of shine. I was very impressed with the formula, I sometimes have a hard time getting blackened red cremes totally even on my nails, but this was excellent. You smell the Forsaken scent after it dries a bit. It’s nice, not too strong at all.
Bite Me
Bite Me is a deep brownish/red lipstick. Nice shine and buildable. It goes on a little on the patchy side but you can build it up to make it more even. It’s a really nice rich shade for fall. The scent is strong though. Very strong and kind of musky. It feels medium moisturizing on the lips, and has a nice shine.

I love True Blood and both of these as well! I’m usually not too big a fan of super blackened nail polish (unless it IS black nail polish), but I am loving Let It Bleed! Literal Vampy Varnish is a good look for you too

How does the nail color compare to CG Prey Tell from their new Safari line?
I haven’t swatched them side by side but I would say they are very, very similar. Like you probably wouldn’t notice the difference much between the two.
I’m glad to hear that this will be coming to stores. I held off on buying the polishes because they just seem pricey for what they are. I do look forward to seeing the swatches though!
Interesting set and I do love True Blood but… wait for it… I’m not biting. Heheh. Besides inspiring bad puns it’s just not unique enough of a polish for me and I won’t do strongly scented lipstick. Also, I’m not usually a fan of gimmick’s like this. I do love your VV photo though

I wanted this set but I missed out on it. Deborah Lippmann + True Blood = love. I can’t wait to see the others swatches.
I have to say that I’m completely surprised by the lipstick! From the picture of the bullet I th ought it was going to be a matte, but it’s so shiny. I really like the color but I don’t know if I could handle a heavy scent that close to my nose.

Everyone needs a great blackened red cream polish. Likewise all need a right for them red lipstick. I personally thing the lip is a harder one to find than is the nail solution. I found my all time fav blackened red in a very unlikely source – a L’Oreal polish from maybe 5 yrs ago. I have adored it and now hord what is left of it. I try many others and non quite meet my loving thoughts of how the L’Oreal one works on my skin tone. It’s black but it’s red (I cannot wear a plain black cream – gotta have that red or a blue to it). Odd as I only own 2 L’Oreal polishes period. They were pulled out of every drugstore for 100 miles of where I live for …well until just this summer – gone right after I found my love black/red 5 yrs ago. No idea why they were not in even the one Walmart for 150 miles – no Target – no drugstore chain – just gone. Now they are tricking in again. I bought 1 more shade from them this past Friday – it’s a blue from what I think is a new fall collection – sitting untried as of yet. This DL looks super close to my L’Oreal that I don’t even know the name of! But then I have been tricked by my eyeballs before on blackened reds.
As for the lip – not quite the right red for me. I need to find a new cool red that is more of a stain than a full glossy lip. I have a red/orange or just call it a warm red that I adore from Tarte Lipsurgance in Fire.
I love your pics with the fangs, the BEST!! What a gorgeous set. Pretty sure I couldn’t handle a lipstick with such a strong (and strange) scent though. That color probably wouldn’t work on me anyway, looks awesome on you!
