Buxom Color Choreography Eyeshadows Swatches, Photos & Review

Buxom Color Choreography Eyeshadows are new as of summer, and these shiny black palettes pack quite the colorful punch!
They come in six dance and music inspired combos: Swing (Brown), Tango (Neutral), Burlesque (Pink/Grey), Lambada (Pink/Purple), Belly Dance (Purple/Grey), and Hip Hop (Blue). Each one features five shades in either shimmery, glittery or matte finishes.
Inside the palettes are a good sized mirror, dual-ended applicator brush and the five shadows. The backside shows you all the shades inside and the names. I am SO happy they all have names, because it bothers me when palettes don’t.

Lambada

Lambada

Swirl, Strut, Sizzle, Spin, Smolder (over primer)
Lambada is a pink/purple palette and has the brightest shades of the five. These shadows feel soft to the touch and they’re buildable as well. I really liked the colors in this palette and especially the peach with the purples.
Swirl is a pale matte pink.
Strut is a medium purple with pink shimmer.
Sizzle is a shimmery peach.
Spin is a pale shimmery lavender/blue.
Smolder is a deep eggplant purple with shimmer.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop

Scratch, Pop, Grind, Bump, Lock (over primer)
The Hip Hop palette features mainly blue shades and for some reason reminds me of a pair of jeans.
Scratch is a shimmery blue/grey. Gorgeous shade, pretty unique.
Pop is a medium warm brown/purple shimmer.
Grind is a very pale matte blue and a bit chalky.
Bump is a warm pale gold glitter, a bit gritty.
Lock is a deep blue matte with silver micro-glitter. I was super impressed with the pigmentation and lack of patchiness with this one.

Belly Dance

Belly Dance

Cymbal, Staccato, Harem, Hips, Gyrate (over primer)
Belly Dance features mostly purples and I think it’s my favorite one of the three I tried. I especially love the shade Cymbal and Staccato together. This is my fav eyeshadow color combo right now.
Cymbal is a glittery orange/copper. Very pigmented and amazing.
Staccato is a deep warm purple shimmer. Super pigmented also.
Harem is a greyish/lavender matte. A wee bit chalky but not bad. Cool shade I think.
Hips is a very pale lilac matte and chalky.
Gyrate is a very dark greyed out purple matte with pink glitter. This is another dark matte I’m really impressed with. Very pigmented and not patchy at all.

Overall: This is my first ever experience with Buxom eyeshadows and I am pretty impressed. For some reason when I first opened them up I expected them to not be very pigmented and hard to work with. But I was wrong. Most of these (with the exception of some of the pale matte shades) were really pigmented, soft and easy to blend. I love the color combinations, and am happy they all have names!
Availability: Exclusive to Sephora and JCPenny stores with Sephora.
Pricing: $36.00 for 0.26 oz.
Have you ever tried any Buxom shadows? What do you think about these palettes?

I like Belly Dance the most out of the three, but Hip Hop looks great on you too!
I’ve always wanted to try the Buxom cream shadows, but they’re not available on my side of the pond so I have to wait around and see if a UK-based webshop stocks it anytime soon!

I love Lambada. I never opted to buy these because I didn’t see too many reviews of these but these look really good!
Bare escentuals must have a great handle on how to do pressed shadows well!

I’m just wondering how similar these are to BareMinerals Ready shadows. It’s the same parent company.

Gorgeous color combos. I had to go to YouTube to refresh my memory what the Lambada was. Think: Gomez and Mortisha’s Addams Family dance. LOL
