Pretty Serious Hello World Nail Polish Swatches & Review

Pretty Serious is a new brand by the awesomely cool blogger Karen (Kaz) from Pretty Random. The Hello World collection is her introduction to showing us how creative she is at making not only nail polish, but also eyeshadow and lip gloss!
I was really happy to hear about another blogger turned makeup entrepreneur when her company was announced. It always great to hear about other people’s successes who you have followed for a few years. Plus you KNOW that the colors are going to be really cool and unique, unlike a lot of the mass market polish companies sometimes.
Hello World consist of six shimmery, glittery shades that are big-3 free, resin free, cruelty free and vegan!

Forbidden Fruit, CGA, VT100

Morning Java, BSOD, Tux

Forbidden Fruit
Forbidden Fruit is a bright white with subtle silver shimmer. The silver shimmer almost makes it looks like a grey/white to my eye, but maybe I’m just crazy. This is really opaque and considering it’s a white, pretty un-streaky! It was definitely the thickest one but still not too hard to apply. This was two coats.

CGA
CGA is a pink with awesome blue shimmer. This is a super cool color, and I don’t think I have anything quite like it. It applies a bit sheer and I used three thin coats. At first I liked it but didn’t fall in love until the third coat. Once it was totally opaque, it turned into this amazingly pretty color. Not too girly of a pink because of the blue shimmer. Love it.

VT100
VT100 is an emerald green with really heavy gold micro-glitter. FABULOUS. The formula was like butter. Smooth, creamy and totally opaque in two coats. The color with the gold shimmer is really amazing. Someone asked me on Instagram if it was similar to Zoya Ivanka. It’s not really. This is a deeper slightly richer looking green, and it’s not metallic like Ivanka is.

Morning Java
Morning Java is a medium brown base with tons of golden bronze micro-glitter. I knew I was going to love this one because these are the kinds of shades I always love. This one is really unique because the base isn’t a dark brown. It looks very bronze-y/gold. Excellent formula, just two coats.

BSOD
BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) is a blue jelly with blue micro-glitter. Its a very rich, vivid blue, and has good coverage. I love the light blue micro-glitter, it’s really heavy, which is my preference. It covered almost totally in three thin coats, with just a slight hint of nail line.

Tux
Tux is a blackened green with a slight purple duochrome finish. This is super dark and blackened around the edges but the shimmery green color shows through nicely. The duochrome effect is pretty subtle and more noticeable in the bottle for me. Great creamy formula, this covered completely in two coats. It reminds me a little bit of Deborah Lippmann Don’t Tell Mama, but not a dupe.
Overall: Absolutely great collection! I really liked every shade here but my favorites are CGA, VT100 and Morning Java. These polishes are big-3 free, resin free, cruelty free and vegan.
Availability: Pretty Serious.
Pricing: $9.95 AUD and there is a 10% discount going on right now.
What do you think about the Hello World collection? Which ones of these do you fancy?
-Kelly
Note: Pretty Serious is cruelty free and vegan.

Awesome!!!
I looooooove Pretty Random so much! These are some awesome polishes!!!
My favorites are VT100, BSOD, and Morning Java! The shade of CGA reminds me of one of my favorite China Glaze glass flecks, Shaken Not Stirred, so of course I’m loving it! Tux is a beauty but I just have way, way too many almost black shades in every color and finish known to man. I’m intrigued by Forbidden Fruit. Unique white polishes are so rare. I’m not a huge fan of white polishes but I do love unique/special/super pretty ones.
It’s great that the shimmer and little sparkles actually show up on the nail! Overall, awesome job with these pretties! Congratulations to Kaz at Pretty Random for a Pretty Serious-ly beautiful collection! *\o/*
How did I miss this on my blogroll?!

I love them all, but do you think that Tux and China Glaze’s Smoke and Ashes could be dupes?
