Milani Color Play Felt-Tip Liquid Pen for Eyes, Face or Body Swatches & Review

Milani Color Play Felt Tip Liquid Pen Milani Color Play Felt Tip Liquid Pen for Eyes, Face or Body Swatches & Review

Milani Color Play Felt-Tip Liquid Pens are a new limited edition product this season and come in six shades.

These liquid pens can be used on your eyes, face or body! They have a very soft felt pen tip, and are water resistant and long lasting. They’re really easy to use, the pen tip has just enough “give” so you have control over it, but it glides onto your skin smoothly. No running or bleeding of color. You can use just the tip for a thin line or the side for a thicker one.

White Line is a very bright opaque white.

Pink Point is a medium pink. This one is a little lighter than you may think.

Jaded Edge is an opaque jade green.

Blue Definition is an opaque bright blue.

Gray Strokes is a silvery grey, This one, like Pink Point, isn’t quite as opaque.

Black Line is an opaque jet black.

A little “drawing” I did. You can see why I’m NOT an artist. icon wink Milani Color Play Felt Tip Liquid Pen for Eyes, Face or Body Swatches & Review

Overall: Good stuff! I like that you can use these not only as a traditional liquid liner, but also to draw anywhere on your face. They do stay on nicely, although I noticed if you go over one of the lines too much, it might get thick and crack. They wash away easily with warm water and a cleanser. The best and most opaque shades are White Line, Jaded Edge, Blue Definition and Black Line.

Availability: July at select Walgreens and Fred Meyers.

Pricing: $6.99 for 0.02 oz.

What do you think about these Color Play pens? Would you use them in a non-traditional way on your eyes or face?

  • I don’t think I would ever draw pictures on my face or body, but I do like the colors. I really prefer pencils over liquid eyelines, so I’ll have to pass on these. I’m kind of obsessed with MAC’s pearlglide liners right now!

  • I think they would make fun eyeliners. And what others have said, it’s really hard to find a good, opaque white liner. I don’t think I’ll get the pink though. Pink eyeliner would be too weird for me.

These look awesome! I have the Milani felt black eyeliner right now & it’s really good, but it has a glossy finish. Do these have a matte finish?

    O.O MUST. HAVE. EVERY. COLOR.

Mega-lemming officially acquired. I’m such a huge fan of Milani’s Liquif’Eye Metallic pencils, Shadow Eyez pencils, and Infinite Liquid Liners…how could I not fall in love with these felt-tip pens? They look amazing! The colors rock and White Line just blew my mind (it’s so opaque!!!)!

As for how I’d use them…I would totally use them as eyeliners. But I would also use them for more creative looks. When I saw these most of my thoughts were of Illamasqua collection images: the bright white winged eyeliner of Human Fundamentalism, the four aqua blue “moles” of Body Electrics, the “outline eyebrows” of Theatre of the Nameless, the flower petals painted around the eyes of Freak… I am no Alex Box but it would be so exciting and fun to try some unique looks with these pens!

I’m having such a super sad though! :’( There are no Fred Meyers in my area that I know of and the Walgreens don’t even carry Milani! *wince* I hope so much that they eventually make these permanent like they did with the Haute Flash glosses!

    June 30, 2012
  • Amber

I love the grey but I’d be afraid that it would just look like a sad black on me.
    :(

Oh WOW! That blue is EXACTLY the blue I have been looking for for a blue eyeliner! Do you ever get an Idea for a makeup item and search for it high and low till you despair of ever finding it and even consider non traditional uses of makeup and still can’t find the shade you need? I must get to CVS right away and get that blue! I’m so glad it’s an affordable item too! Thank you!

    • queenielizzie

      err.. Walgreens that is..:)

      June 30, 2012
  • Ah I hope the Walgreen’s near me will be carrying these, it seems like they never have LE collections. The black looks super dark, which I love! PS: your drawing made me smile, it’s really cute :)

    June 30, 2012
  • I bought all colors while in a larger city. I used all colors when I went to a mermaid party and I love them! I went to the Walgreeens in my city when I returned home to buy more and sadly they did not carry them.
    Please make permanent!
