MAC Casual Colour is a new limited edition collection perfect for the summer months. Why? Because the main feature, which are the Lip & Cheek Colours, are a two in one product and so easy to use. Also super convenient to just pop in your bag and be done with it!

This collection not only features eight Lip & Cheek Colours, but also Studio Fix Lash Mascara, Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, Prep + Prime Highlighter (in two shades) and four Nail Lacquers.

Let’s dive into the Lip & Cheek Colours, shall we?

Lazy Sunday, Relaxation, Evening Stroll, Weekend Getaway

The Lip & Cheek Colours come in a pot, very similar to their Lip Conditioner (which I love). They are made to be used as blush and lip colour, if you so desire. When used together they create a nice matchy-matchy effect, which I kinda like. They aren’t sticky, have no scent and nicely pigmented. Just a little bit on the cheeks goes a long way.

Lazy Sunday is a light pink. This is definitely the hardest one to wear because it’s super pale and made me look corpse-esque.

Relaxation is a medium pink. Very pretty, totally my kind of shade. Not too warm or cool.

Evening Stroll is a violet shade. I thought this would not work on me at all, but it actually does! Like it!

Weekend Getaway is a cool toned rose pink. Another one I would wear all the time.

Please be kind and ignore the dark circles under my eyes. icon smile MAC Casual Colour for Summer 2012 Swatches, Photos & Review

Keep It Loose, Have A Lovely Day!, Keep It Casual, Out For Fun

Keep It Loose is a warm toned peachy/nude shade. This one is really light on my cheeks and lips.

Have A Lovely Day! is a nude/beige. Pretty, I like this one a lot for a nude look.

Keep It Casual is a red/brown shade and the darkest one. It still manages to work with my skin as long as I use a little. The lip shade is really nice. Not too bright.

Out For Fun is a coral shade and one of my favs. Love the lip shade especially on me. Great for summer!

Style Tip

Style Tip is a nude creme. Too close to my skin tone for me, not much of a fan of this one. The formula was ok, not as streaky as most MAC cremes are. This was two coats.

MAC Casual Colour Nail Lacquer Please Me MAC Casual Colour for Summer 2012 Swatches, Photos & Review
Please Me

Please Me is a medium warm pink creme. The shade is nice, though not that unique I don’t think, but the formula was streaky. This was two coats.

Overall: I truly love these Lip & Cheek Colours. The only shades I wasn’t totally over the moon for were Lazy Sunday, Keep It Loose and Keep It Casual. If I had to pick mt top 3 favs they would be Relaxation, Evening Stroll and Out For Fun. As far as the nail lacquers, meh, I would say skip ‘em. I don’t understand why MAC nail lacquer is so bad when it comes to cremes!

Availability: MAC, Nordstrom.

Pricing: Lip & Cheek Colours ($20 for 0.43 oz), Nail Lacquers ($16 for 0.34 oz).

So which of these, if any, do you like?

Really surprised to see that Relaxation looks darker on your lips than Weekend Getaway does.

  • I know they are for summer wear but I dont think they have enough pigment for me. I like them and love the idea of lip and cheek together. The polish is yuk!

  • Are these extremely drying on the lips? I love the idea of matching lips & cheeks, but my lips are always thirsty!

    • Not at all, they feel like their lip balm to me!

Girl, your dark circles aren’t bad at all! Your full face shots are really helpful to see how the shades compare on the cheeks and the lips. I’m so sad though because this is the first quality MAC launch in a while but I have to restrict myself. I hope some turn up at the CCO later.

I love the look of these colors! I dont see many lip or cheek products from any brand in shades like this.

How well do they wear? How easily do they blend out? Are they buildable for the most part? How many grams do you get with the lip/cheek products? Im very likely going to be picking at least 2 of these up!

I actually really like these 2 nail colors, but I have very similar ones which I got for a fraction of the price & which are very opaque. So I’ll be passing on those.

Wow, I spent a fortune on the Hey Sailor collection at the launch party, and now this…..I havent spent this much on MAC products for many years…..theyre finally coming out with products that interest me again!

  • Out for fun looks wonderful on you!! Love the coral.. I may have to try that one :) The polishes seem a bit too blah for me I think.. but that is probably what they were going for with the “casual color” theme. I bet they would be good sellers for people who need something work appropriate!
