Glitter Gal Shade Shifter, Transitions and Opal Nail Polish Swatches & Review

Glitter Gal Australia has some new nail polishes out with cool new finishes. These polishes can be worn alone or over other colors to add dimension and different depths of color.
Shade Shifters – These come in either a smooth or glittery finish.
Opals – Light and soft on their own, or layer over a dark color for super impact.
Transitions – Very sheer worn alone or wear over other colors for a cool effect.
There are a few new shades in each of these categories, and I’ve got a few of them for ya now!

Transitions Soft Blue

Transitions Soft Blue
Transitions Soft Blue on its own is a sheer opalescent blue/purple/pink shade. I love opalescent shades, I always find them really mesmerizing to look at. This is very sheer though, even with three coats. But it’s meant to be layered as well.

Transitions Soft Blue over black
Here you see it layered over a black creme and it looks like a gorgeous shimmery blue.

Soft Hidden Violets

Soft Hidden Violets
Soft Hidden Violets is classified as a shade shifter. It’s a violet/red base with heavy blue shimmer. This is a really pretty color and great formula. It was super creamy and covered nicely in three thin coats with no streaking. It’s very opaque on its own, I didn’t even try layering it because this is how I would wear this one.

Brilliant Fiery Furnace

Brilliant Fiery Furnace
Brilliant Fiery Furnace is classified as a glittery brilliant shade shifter. The color is a coppery/orange with a duochrome glitter finish. It shifts from orange to pink to yellow. It applied a little sheer but I managed to get it completely opaque in three thin coats. Very cool color, I really like this one.

Lightening Ridge

Lightning Ridge over black
Lightning Ridge is classified as an opal. It’s a holographic glitter in a clear base. The glitter in this is mainly green and orange/red. It looks pretty cool over a dark base. I used two coats here.
Overall: I’m pretty sure I have shades similar to all of these except maybe Brilliant Fiery Furnace. Having said that though, these are pretty nice in terms of color and formula. I didn’t have any issues with applying any of them and I really like the bottle shape to boot!
Availability: You can find your nearest stockist here.
Pricing: AUD $17.95 for Shade Shifters & Transitions and AUD $16.50 for Opals for 0.5 oz.
Are you going to be checking any of these out?

Note: Glitter Gal Australia is cruelty free.

Transitions of Soft Blue is SO cool over black! I wonder how it looks on top of other dark colors!
Really adore Soft Hidden Violets as well, and Lightening Ridge is pretty hot!

I think Transitions Soft Blue would be fun to get just to play with it and layer it over various colors.
Lightening Ridge is a flaky glitter NOT a holographic.
Pretty, but not unique enough to tempt me at those prices.

I like Brilliant Fiery Furnace, but I wish that it was a little less glittery than it appears and more shimmery. Transitions Soft Blue seems great because you basically can double the number of nail polish colors you own just by adding a coat of it on top of any of your polishes. Thanks for sharing these.

I really like these but they are too spendy!

Transitions Soft Blue is such a pretty color!! But however pretty it is, they are way to pricey for me to afford, especially since there are many other colors that look quite similar through other brands that are much cheaper.

I would love to get these if the price wasn’t so expensive.

Oohh the transitions are really pretty! I wonder if Fiery Furnace would look similar to Mac’s Bad Fairy if layered over a nice red.

I kind of like the flake, but to be honest, the rest look kind of like cheap no-name polishes I had in the 90s.
The brand looks fabulous. I am very attracted to these especially the shape shifter.

Some of these are pretty, but the price point is too high for me, especially because they are not that unique. Nice swatches though! My favorite is the opal by itself.

I like the Soft Blue and the Soft Hidden Violets. I am amazed how blue Soft Blue turns the black cream base. But I have other polishes that look like Soft Blue on it’s own and if I wanted a blue like it looks over the black I would were a # of blues I have that look like this one. So That one would be a leave for me – esp at the price point plus shipping. Soft Violets is really pretty. I have something similar but not quite like it. If I were going to order from a supplier who really had it in stock and I was getting other polishes as well to justify the shipping charges, I would pick that one up. The Opal one – I have the Finger Paint collection and the 3 Zoyas that are flakie over lays as well as the one from Essie Effect. I would have liked to have seen Glitter Gal do more with toppers that create effects more on the line of the CND Effects which I tend to reach for a lot. I can still enjoy the color under it but they give me a different slant to the same shade. I think the total color change as I said from the Transitions here is lost on me as far as why you would not just reach for a blue?
