GAP Nail Polish Swatches, Photos & Comparison
Did you know that GAP sells nail polish? I sure didn’t until a month or so ago I was in one, and spotted them sitting in a bucket on a shelf. They had some shades that looked pretty cool, but I limited myself to just two.
One is called Gold Rush and from the bottle, it definitely looked like a Chanel Peridot dupe. The other is a glittery teal green.
Gold Rush, Mermaid
Gold Rush
Gold Rush is a green/gold shimmery duochrome. And yes, it’s basically the same shade as Chanel Peridot and a few other dupes to that. Nice application though, not very streaky. I used three thin coats here.
Mermaid
Mermaid is a teal green and blue glitter in a clear base. Normally I don’t buy glitter polish because I very rarely ever wear it. But for some reason this looked like one I would like. The glitter is super tiny like sugar sprinkles. I love the color combo and it layers pretty nicely. This was three thin coats.

As you can see, these are all basically the same color. I still think Chanel Peridot is more shimmery looking, and the others appear more metallic, but it’s a very slight difference. This is three thin coats of all.

Haven’t been in a Gap in ages, wasn’t aware they had nail polish! My favorite jeans ever were from the Gap, they’ve now got ripped knees.

While it can get tiring seeing the same shade put out by so many companies, I’m also really glad to see it.
I bought Chanel Peridot, which was a huge deal to me because of the high price tag that I’m not accustomed to paying. So, all of these dupes make it easier for people to not only find that shade, but to get it for a lower price point potentially.
I’m all for great colours being enjoyed by the masses! 
But, yes, I get where you’re coming from, too.

Looks like every company is launching a Peridot dupe! It is a great color, though I think by now it feels like it’s been done and done before. Mermaid has real layering potential though!

I’m kind of sick of seeing the Peridot dupes! But I am glad that I have options since I don’t want to spend a fortune on Chanel polishes!

I work for Gap and have tons of Gap nail polishes they are awesome. I’ve been told by multiple sources that Chanel manufacturer’s our nail polishes. But I’ve not been able to confirm.
Either way you’ll see multiple Chanel dupes in the collection. I love every one of them!

Hi there! I just picked up Gold Rush and was talking to the cashier about how it’s supposed to be a dupe for Chanel Peridot and he also told me that they manufacture Gap nail polishes. So .. it seems like it might be true.

Wow, so many Péridot dupes… Every brand seems to have one. But these polishes sure look pretty
I’ve never seen any interesting shades when I look through the bins!
I recently saw some polishes at GAP here but I haven’t tried them yet… Some colors looked nice though!

Wow! Pretty polishes for a store that specializes in selling clothes! Sadly, I expected more out of Mermaid.
But the Chanel Peridot dupe makes up for it!

I layered mermaid on a bit thicker than Kelly and have been very pleased with it. You can get it to look just like how it does in the bottle with 3 thicker coats. I love it and it lasted forever!

I didn’t know Gap made polish. I haven’t gotten a Peridot dupe yet either. It’s a pretty color but with all these dupes I’m not sure which one is the best.

I used to work at The Gap and we were always told that Chanel made out nail polish too.
I’m glad it isn’t just me hearing that! I wonder if I can get one of my head honchos to confirm. I think it would bring a lot of new business into the store

Gap has been selling polish for at least 10 years (10 years ago was when I first started).
Nail polish companies have been going crazy with the Chanel Paridot dupes! I will admit I was happy that OPI made a dupe for Paridot cause there was no way I was going to give Chanel $25.00 for just one polish. It wasnt going to happen. So I’m happy they made a dupe but now these companies are seeing this shade as their bread and butter, It’s almost kind of sad that three companies (now 4 cause China Glaze is coming out with a dupe as well!) are just duping this polish like crazy. Ah o well..the more dupes they happier me and my wallet are! lol
Recently I picked up several GAP polishes and was pleased with most of them. My favorite shade seems to be a dupe for Chanel Particuliere, called Mocha. they seem to be pretty nice quality(decent brush, formula) for $6. that is pretty hard to pass up. I will be checking the GAP counter for new ones.
Wow, I might just have to hit up my local Gap to check these out….somebody mentioned to me that H&M is also doing nail polishes. And both stores are within 2 blocks of my house either way LOL Might take a wander up to both today! Thanks for the swatches!
The GAP polishes are all on sale for $4.20 so I just bought a bunch of the colors. They are good quality and wear very well. (8/8/12)
