Urban Decay Showboat Nail Kit for Summer 2012 Swatches & Review

Starting on May 1st you can pick up the new Urban Decay Showboat Nail Kit for summer 2012.
This six piece mini nail kit features neons, shimmers and a creme, all in great summer shades.
These mini bottles are just 0.16 oz, so they really are small. But if you change your mind a lot or just won’t use a full size bottle of polish (who ever does?) they may be right for you!

Woodstock
Woodstock is a neon pink. Bright and retina burning pink! This was two coats.

Showboat
Showboat is a neon orange. Another uber bright shade and two coats.

Fishnet
Fishnet is a neon fuchsia purple shade. This one isn’t quite as bright as the pink and orange, and is a bit more sheer. I used two coats but could have used three for more even coverage.

Covet
Covet is a medium teal-green with shimmer. This is a gorgeous shade, and definitely my favorite one. Nice creamy formula, this was two coats. Could maybe have used one more though.

Radium
Radium is a metallic royal blue shimmer. Pretty even with the finish, and just two coats.

Perversion
Perversion is a jet black creme. This covers completely in just two coats. Shiny!
Overall: If you like mini sets this is a great one for summer. I like that it features not only neons but shimmery shades. Perhaps these shades aren’t all that unique, but Covet is really gorgeous!
Availability: Urban Decay, Macy’s.
Pricing: $28.00.
What do you think about the Showboat Nail Kit? Anything you see here tempting enough to buy the whole set?

Ooo I like most of these, but Covet is the one that stands out! I love the finish of Woodstock and Showboat too!

Covet looks stunning, my favourite of the collection!

Woodstock may be the brightest pink I’ve seen. Overall, these just aren’t doing it for me.

I hate to say this, but if this set is anything like the Rollergirl collection they came out with last summer, then it will be a complete waste of money. Those polishes separated and became goopy and unusable within 4 months.
Hopefully UD has improved their mini polishes since then!

Although pretty, these don’t seem all that special. The only one that seems worth it to me is Covet.
Covet looks sooooo pretty!
I absolutely love Covet!! Its the only color i don’t have in my collection! I wish they sold the colors separately! Anyone know any dupes for Covet?
They are very pretty!

Covet is the only one I like, but I never wear neons… I think it’s a little pricey for minis though

The pink and orange are the neons that really grab my attention. Can’t help but be addicted to neons. You wear them, and you’re instantly happy!

Too many pretty pennies for this set. Woodstock is a repeat for the 3rd time – but that’s OK as I love it. I just hate always getting it in a mini however. I wish UD would make more full size vs. the mini kits. Who needs another black cream? I know why they did it however as Perversion is a major hit in name in their 24/7 liner and finally after way too long was put into the regular collection. Radium – again – a hit in the 24/7 liners – or at least in my book it is and I have a back up because I always fall in love with a liner shade and UD pulls it…ditto on their shadows – esp the mattes – still have not forgiven them for discontinuing most of them. Like the shimmer in Covet but feel it would be on a shimmer that only I know is there – like that it’s a green teal vs blue one. Fishnet has been done by every line over and over including UD – however, we all tend to like bright fuchsias in summer – they are a huge love of mine most certainly. I’ll stick with my OPI Flashbulb Fuchsia & OPI Pompeii Purple along with some glass fleck fuchsias I have that I adore. Now Showboat rocks my socks. If I can find it sold somewhere alone, I will buy that one – not that I don’t already have a # of screaming loud oranges – but major loving ‘em. This one looks like a neon – not sure if it really is however.
Darn it. Why can’t UD just keep an ongoing polish line? They would make a killing!! I love of all of these and need them in regular sizes!

I think I like Covet the best out of this set. I will definitely wait until this goes on sale to buy!

Ugh I wish I could have that orange all on it’s own!

I like Covet (I love that liner, too), but am otherwise meh on this set. THe first three look like they have kinda waxy finishes.
