NARS Trouville Nail Polish for Summer 2012 Swatches & Review

NARS Trouville nail polish is part of their summer 2012 collection.

What is Trouville? I had to Google it and discovered Trouville-sur-Mer “is a commune in the Calvados department in the Basse-Normandie region in northwestern France. Trouville-sur-Mer borders Deauville” according to Wikipedia.

You learn something new every day.

Trouville

Trouville is a soft pink creme. It’s a bit of a warmer pink shade, and fairly sheer. In fact even after three coats it’s not completely opaque, but almost. It’s not a neon or in-your-face pink, but rather understated and quiet. Good for those who don’t like venturing into brights too much or have to wear conservative shades for work.

Availability: NARS, Nordstrom.

Pricing: $18.00.

Is Trouville too tame for you?

I like watermelon pink! Some tame colors are always nice to have in the arsenal, in case you’re going to a job interview/meeting the boyfriend’s parents for the first time/attending a wedding and so on :)

I saw it at Sephora yesterday and I was tempted, I love pinks! I’m looking for jellies, do you think this one qualifies? Did you like the formula? I need some excuses to buy ANOTHER pink hahha

Hmmm no, sorry not quite a jelly, haha. The formula was good, but not as creamy and smooth as say Night Clubbing…

I think it’s lovely and I would totally buy it if it weren’t $18.

I hear ya, that is on the expensive side!

I think it might be a little too tame for me but I do think it would suit a lot of my friends. Its very pretty and feminine!

I like the color, but I suspect Orly has a similar shade for less.

I think it looks lovely on you with your skin tone.
It’s especially cute with your nail shape and length too.

    I. Need. This. Polish! I’ve been seeing this everywhere like it’s taunting me. D: I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect seashell pink and I think this fits the bill

I like the colour a lot, but that’s too expensive for me. Looks nice, though! :’)

Very pretty pink but not too keen on the price. Definitely cheaper dupes out there that probably wouldn’t require at least 3 coats.

It is rather tame. But then so is Trouville. Now a faded seaside resort. Used to be very ‘haut monde’ and ‘fin de siecle’ but it’s more ‘vielle dame’ now. Polish matches place!
