Models Own Beetlejuice Collection for Spring/Summer 2012 Swatches, Photos & Review

Last fall Models Own came out with a hugely anticipated collection of multichromes called Beetlejuice. Well they have now added three more colors to the Beetlejuice collection for spring/summer 2012!
The shades are:
- Indian Ocean – iridescent pink/blue
- Copper Pot – copper/green duochrome
- Tropical Sun – tangerine/orange with silver glitter
One of these in particular I was super excited to check out in person, and it’s definitely my favorite of the entire Beetlejuice collection, past or present. And that would be…Indian Ocean!

Indian Ocean bottle

Indian Ocean
On its own, Indian Ocean is a somewhat sheer iridescent pink/blue/lavender. It’s really a gorgeous shade, but my nail tips do show through pretty clearly even after three coats. So I prefer to layer this one.

Indian Ocean over SpaRitual Lucid
Look how amazing this is layered over a lavender polish. So shimmery and mesmerizing. This is two coats Lucid and one of Indian Ocean. Love it. It would look amazing over tons of purple, pink or blue polishes.

Copper Pot bottle

Copper Pot
Copper Pot is a great copper penny metallic with slight green duochrome. I didn’t see the duochrome effect on the nail as much as in the bottle. This was two coats, and really nice un-streaky formula.

You can see the greenish effect in low lighting a little better.

Tropical Sun bottle

Tropical Sun
Tropical Sun is a pretty orange with heavy gold/yellow shimmer and tiny silver glittery bits. I found it a little sheer and did need three coats. But I like it, great shade for hot summer days!

Overall: I really liked all three of these shades, but Indian Ocean is the must have as far as I’m concerned. I love a polish you can layer over others so you can get all kinds of different looks from it.
Availability: I got them from Harlow & Co.
Pricing: $10.00 each.
What do you think about Beetlejuice part 2? Any here you need?

I was so excited for this collection. I marked it on my calendar a month in advance, set alarms for it and budgeted around the purchase. I would even check out the promo photos once a week if not every other day! Yes, I was that excited. Then, about a week before launch, I began to see photos roll in of how sheer they were… so disappointed in the sheerness. I ended up not even placing my order. I am, however, surprised at how much I love swatches of “Tropical Sun”. It was the one I was least excited about. it’s funny how that usually works that way!

Indian Ocean is gorgeous!! If I were to ever pick any of these up, that would be the one. I don’t feel as excited about the other two, but they’re still pretty regardless.

I have these but have yet to wear copper pot or indian ocean. I love tropical sun. It was so bright and cheery. I will have to do as you suggest and layer indian ocean – that looks fabulous!
I absolutely love how these look in natural light. *clutches pearls*
Thanks for the swatches. These are pretty and Indian Ocean does look like it’s worth seeking out. I’m still on the fence though.
Are these with Toluene?
Very nice colors
I think most of their nail colors have Toluene actually…
I saw them in store, but though I like multichromes, I wasn’t too impressed.

They look so beautiful in the bottles but kinda disappointing on the nails. I’d have to pass on these.

I have Indian Ocean and I layered it over Sinful Colors Cinderella! The light blue is very similar, I really liked the effect. Alone it’s too sheer for me too, but as you said, so many options with this polish!!

Indian Ocean looks so pretty on it’s own. It’s a shame it’s still sheer after 3 coats but still pretty.
I’ve been lusting for Indian Ocean since I first saw it. Tropical Sun calls my name from time to time too.

I was super excited about these, but am ultimately disappointed. Indian Ocean and Tropical Sun are really pretty, but I dislike how sheer they are.
I’m also confused by the tie-in to Beetlejuice–possibly from the scrapped sequel Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian?
i neeeeeeeeeeeed indian ocean
