Picture Polish Opulence Collection Swatches & Review

Picture Polish has a new collection out called Opulence which features three new glittery, shimmery shades.
- Mask-a-rade is a multichrome glitter
- Peacock is a emerald green glitter in a purple base
- Monroe is a deep wine red with holographic glitter
The formula with these was a little difficult. They were pretty thick, and I had some cuticle drag issues with two of them because I wasn’t letting enough time pass in-between coats. A couple of them tended to get clumped up and thick on the brush as I painted them on, which isn’t a good sign. Also I used between 3-4 coats for two of them to get maximum coverage.

Mask-a-rade

Mask-a-rade (macro)
Mask-a-rade is rainbow colored glitter in a clear base. Every color under the sun is in this polish, and it’s really quite nice over a dark base (I used black). This was the easiest formula of the three to work with, and I used two coats.

Monroe

Monroe (macro)
Monroe is a deep blood red jelly with small holo glitter. I had major issues with this polish but some of it was probably my own fault. I had a lot of cuticle drag and patchy areas. I think this one should dry 3-4 minutes in-between coats rather than the one minute I was allowing. After three coats it’s mostly even, and a pretty shade.

Peacock

Peacock (macro)
Peacock has a purple base and the glitter is mostly hexagonal and rectangular emerald green, but also smaller blue and green glitter. This one was four coats to get completely coverage over no other color underneath. It got thicker and thicker as I worked with it and also I had some patchy areas. I like the color combo though, and it looks much better in person.
Availability: Picture Polish (they ship internationally).
Pricing: $13.50 AUD.
So what do you think about Opulence? Will you be snatching up any of these?

I like Monroe the best, but doubt I will look for these.

I think Peacock and Monroe LOOOK amazing but after reading your thoughts on it I am not so sure I’d bother spending that much on polish that isn’t absolutely amazing to work with…even if the end result is gorgeous color payoff.
I am of the extremely impatient variety and I like quick drying polish! Especially since I 99.9% of the time also add some form of nail art I don’t want to have to wait so long between coats and then before I even get to play with the art on them.
These macro shots are amazing!!

I love all three of these, but Mask-a-rade over black is AMAZING. And your macro shots are beautiful!

I really like Monroe but, like other commenters have said, I doubt I’ll lust after these like other polishes. Maybe if it was more readily available around me.

Love, love, love Peacock! And thank you so much for including macro shots – they really helped me better see what was going on in each polish.

Love the colors, but too pricey for the issues application provides.
I like Mask-a-rade the most, but to be honest I’m not sure if ANY polish is worth the hassle. If a polish isn’t good after two coats, I get totally turned off (plus this one has cuticle drag… hmm)!

Pretty…I think the macro’s are even prettier, however I don’t know that they are very different that alot of whats out there already….perhaps Peacock may be a little more original
These are pretty but I feel like that’s a high price for shades that are kind of a pain to work with!
