Picture Polish Opulence Collection Swatches & Review

Picture Polish Opulence Picture Polish Opulence Collection Swatches & Review

Picture Polish has a new collection out called Opulence which features three new glittery, shimmery shades.

  • Mask-a-rade is a multichrome glitter
  • Peacock is a emerald green glitter in a purple base
  • Monroe is a deep wine red with holographic glitter

The formula with these was a little difficult. They were pretty thick, and I had some cuticle drag issues with two of them because I wasn’t letting enough time pass in-between coats. A couple of them tended to get clumped up and thick on the brush as I painted them on, which isn’t a good sign. Also I used between 3-4 coats for two of them to get maximum coverage.

Mask-a-rade (macro)

Mask-a-rade is rainbow colored glitter in a clear base. Every color under the sun is in this polish, and it’s really quite nice over a dark base (I used black). This was the easiest formula of the three to work with, and I used two coats.

Monroe (macro)

Monroe is a deep blood red jelly with small holo glitter. I had major issues with this polish but some of it was probably my own fault. I had a lot of cuticle drag and patchy areas. I think this one should dry 3-4 minutes in-between coats rather than the one minute I was allowing. After three coats it’s mostly even, and a pretty shade.

Peacock (macro)

Peacock has a purple base and the glitter is mostly hexagonal and rectangular emerald green, but also smaller blue and green glitter. This one was four coats to get completely coverage over no other color underneath. It got thicker and thicker as I worked with it and also I had some patchy areas. I like the color combo though, and it looks much better in person.

Availability: Picture Polish (they ship internationally).

Pricing: $13.50 AUD.

So what do you think about Opulence? Will you be snatching up any of these?
