This summer NARS and Thakoon have you covered with six new limited edition bright creme nail polishes.
Thakoon Panichugal (fashion designer who frequently partners with Francois Nars at New York Fashion Week) came up with the color inspiration by seeing all the colors in Indian spice markets.
Kutki is a light pastel sky blue. Not chalky though and not overly whitened. It was a little bit uneven in the application, but after three coats covered pretty nicely.
Amchoor is a bright warm yellow. Bright! Somehow I feel I got away with this yellow shade, which normally I can’t. The formula, for a yellow, wasn’t TOO streaky, but it was thick. I did three coats for coverage.
Ratin Jot is a medium orchid purple. This one was thinner and nice and even. It covered in just two coats.
Lal Mirchi (only available at their Bleecker St. store) is a bright red/orange. Really nice color, excellent smooth formula. This was two coats.
Anardana is a medium pink/red. Again, really nice thin smooth formula and just two coats.
Koliary is a bright medium blue. This is one of those blues I adore and can’t stop staring at when it’s on. Thicker formula, but still even and nice after two coats.
Overall: Most of the colors here, if not all, aren’t exactly unique, but together they make a nice collection. The ones I liked the most because of the formula and shade were Lal Mirchi, Koliary and Amchoor.
See anything here you need from Thakoon or do you already have these shades?
