Hard Candy Collection for Spring 2012 Swatches, Photos & Review
Hard Candy has some cool goodies out this spring at a Walmart near (or maybe not) you.
Some of the pieces include Take It Off Makeup Remover Wipes, Glow All The Way Deep Tan Instant Bronze & Gradual Self Tanner, Shiny When Wet Duo, Flat To Fab Mascara, Eye’M Tired Eye Brightener and That’s How I Roll Loose Shimmer.
The Take It Off Makeup Remover Wipes come in a plastic container with a re-closeable snap lid that lets you easily grab the towelettes one at a time. It also does a good job of keeping the pads moist.
25 pads come inside and they are made to use on long-wearing and waterproof makeup. They are gentle enough for the eyes as well and do a great job of removing everything. No rinsing is required and they left my skin feeling moisturized not dry. I felt a wee bit sticky though so I always feel the need to rinse off when using these kinds of towelettes anyway.
Flat To Fab Mascara is a long-wear instant volume and curl mascara. The shape of the applicator is thicker on the ends and narrow in the middle. The shade is Blackest Black.
It does a good job of curling lashes for sure, I didn’t miss my eyelash curler. It’s on the medium-thick side. I felt like it did a good job lengthening my lashes, but not necessarily fattening them as I would prefer.
Shiny When Wet is a waterproof mascara and waterproof liquid eyeliner combo. Both are black and the eyeliner has a somewhat glossy finish.
You can see above the mascara wand is fairly fat. Mine felt and looked a little on the dry side. Also in the tube there was nothing keeping the wand snug so it just pulled right out, leaving lots of excess on the wand.
I’m not thrilled with the mascara in general. It doesn’t do much thickening or lengthening and overall felt like maybe it was old. I prefer Flat To Fab over this one for sure.
The liquid liner seemed pretty good. It’s a super jet black shade and smooth. I have yet to try it in the water though!

Eye’M Tired is a rollerball style eye treatment that comes in a plastic tube. Warning: do NOT squeeze the tube to get the product out or you may get a hole in the other end.
This serum claims to help depuff and brighten your under eye area. You gently roll the ball over your under eye area and the product slowly comes out.
It does feel cooling and nice. But I didn’t have any puffy eyes and didn’t really notice a brightening effect. It felt moisturizing though, and I kinda like it just as a mid-afternoon pick me up!
Emma-Belle Loose Shimmer, Shadow Stick
That’s How Eye Roll Loose Shimmer is another duo product. On one side is a loose eye shimmer with a rollerball applicator, and on the other is a corresponding shadow stick.
The shade I tried is called Emma-Belle. The Loose Shimmer is a peachy/pink and the Shadow Stick is a bronze shimmer. Good payoff for both products. I am not a fan of rolling something onto my eyelid as it’s a bit awkward and messy, so I roll some onto my hand, then pat onto my eye with my finger.
Glow All The Way Deep Tan Instant Bronze & Gradual Self Tanner Infused with 24 Karat Gold (WHEW!) is just that. It’s a dark golden/bronze shade with gold sparkles. Just a little goes a long way and this is obviously WAY too dark for moi!
Here I am wearing the Emma-Belle That’s How Eye Roll combo with the Flat To Fab Mascara.
Availability: Walmart only.
