Deborah Lippmann Sweet Dreams 3D Holographic Nail Lacquer Swatches & Review
Stop the presses! Deborah Lippmann has two new 3D Holographic Nail Lacquers out!
These amazing lacquers have a pigmented base and are filled with holographic flake glitter. The shades are Sweet Dreams (candy colored pink) and Ray Of Light (electric indigo blue).
Today I’ve got Sweet Dreams for ya and soon (because I ordered it the second I saw this one) I will have Ray Of Light.

Sweet Dreams is a candy pink flake glitter with a jelly texture. Super cool! I’m not sure I was expecting the base pink shade to be as opaque as it was, so I was pleasantly surprised. It’s this perfect shade of candy pink too. Sweet and super mesmerizing. The flake glitter is more duochrome than holographic, mostly turning shades of pink, red and orange.
The polish is pretty darn thick, and not super easy to work with. Wait 2-3 minutes in-between each coat to make sure you don’t get cuticle drag or clumpy areas. This is just two coats though, and you can see I got pretty nice coverage overall, except for a couple of the tips.
Sweet Dreams over black
It looks super cool over a black creme polish also. The fiery red and orange tends to come out more over it. Really pretty! This is just one coat over two coats of black.
Overall: LOVE IT. I really love it, it’s fabulous even though it’s super thick. I cannot wait to see Ray Of Light in person. Oh and I also finally ordered Mermaid Dreams too, yay!

Holographic seems misleading since it’s not a holographic but a duochrome and/or flake polish. Pretty though.

So… not so much a holographic as a flakie. Still pretty cool but you had my hopes up for a minute *sigh*. I am interested in seeing Ray of Light for sure.

Wow this is stunning and I can’t wait until I can get it in the UK I’m pleasantly surprised that the base colour is so opaque for 2 coats; like you said, I usually expect these to be so much sheerer.

I like it but still can’t make myself a wear a flakie. I guess Butter’s Disco Biscuit is more my speed, even though I much prefer DL’s formulas, bottles and personality! I also just got Mermaid Dreams and can’t wait to try it! (of course, I have an event this week that I want purple nails for so it’s just sitting there on the table, taunting me!)

I’ve always thought someone should talk to Ms. Lippmann and show her the definition of holographic. She did the same thing with the Edge of Glory set. It was a flakie. A beautiful flakie, but a flakie nonetheless.
It’s a beautiful polish for sure, I just can’t stop nitpicking about the name.

Not to pick nits, since I think this polish looks pretty awesome (and Ray of Light also looks awesome) but I have quibble with Lippman calling these polishes “holographic” when they’re clearly not holographic at all! But anyway, Sweet Dreams is rather stunning.

Lucky girl! I really want ray of light I can’t wait for your swatches. Sweet dreams is so not for me. I don’t like pink. I really want ray of light but don’t know if my husband will allow me to get it, I recently splurged on the edge of glory Deborah Lippmann set on Ebay. Maybe I can sneak it in
the house.
Mermaid’s Dreams is so awesome; I got it for my birthday at the beginning of the month and it just looks great. It is a little rough, but I like to think of it as the mermaid’s scales!
This is pretty too but the base color is not my fave.
Aside from the thick formula, WOW, Sweet Dreams is appropriately named!
