Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick & High Pigment Pencil Only at Sephora

This past weekend I was in a local outdoor shopping area in Emeryville called Bay Street. They have a Sephora there and who am I to just walk by and not venture in?
There wasn’t anything I really needed per se, but I came across Bite Beauty and after swatching some of their products on my hand, I decided they were a brand that needed further investigation.
Bite Beauty is sold exclusively at Sephora and they are a Canadian company. They focus on the lips and have quite a few different lip products available. But the coolest part? The products they use are Natural Food Grade and cruelty free.

I decided to pick up one of the Luminous Creme Lipsticks (they have 21 shades) and one of the High Pigment Pencils (there are 11 shades).

Luminous Creme Lipstick in Cava

Cava
I ADORE Cava! The color is just perfection on a stick to me. It’s a somewhat sheer but build-able pink nude shade with nice shine. And the formula is excellent also. Very moisturizing and feels very comfortable on the lips. No scent or taste. I love it.

High Pigment Pencil in Velvet
The High Pigment Pencils are chubby and unlike most lip pencils, these twist up! You don’t sharpen them. I love that idea, it makes it much easier and cleaner overall.
And here is another tidbit of info in case you are interested. Each pencil comes with the same amount of resveratrol as found in 5 glasses of wine! I had to Google what that actually was and it’s a plant derived antioxidant.

Velvet
Velvet is a bright rose pink shade. It’s the kind of pink I am always drawn to and can never have too many of. This pencil applies so easily, gliding over the lips like butter. Super moisturizing and comfy. No scent or taste. Fabulous stuff!

Me wearing Velvet (I know, wrong blush for this one!)

Cava, Velvet
Overall: I am kind of hooked and definitely want to check out some other shades and products. The one caveat is this isn’t an inexpensive line by any means. I kind of shuddered at the price, but I wound up loving both these shades luckily!
Availability: Sephora only.
Pricing: Lipsticks are $24.00 for 0.13 oz, and Pencils are $24.00 for 0.09 oz.
Have you tried anything from Bite Beauty? What do you think about these shades?

I’ve heard only good things about Bite’s formulas – I almost bought a trio of the pencils over the holidays, but the cost was too high. The high pigment pencils look amazing though!

I love Bite lipsticks! The price is crazy, but I was able to get a trio for the price of one earlier this year.
They look like they apply so smooth! Very nice!

Ooo I LOVE how Cava looks on you! It’ll DEFINITELY wash me out, but for you it IS perfection! Velvet looks really nice too, and I don’t really think it’s obvious you’re wearing the wrong blush with it

Wow, both look really pretty! The price is the same as what Tarte is charging for their Lipsurgence pencils. I usually only get those if they are part of a set because of the price though, and the Bite ones look more pigmented.

The price tag does seem a little excessive but they look like they’re worth investing in. Velvet looks so creamy and opaque, I’ve gotta check these out.

That’s actually coming up in a post soon! They are products from Hard Candy.
I like how creamy these look. Also your hair looks really nice at that length :3
I could KILL for Cava (well, not really, but it’s the most beautiful shade/finish I’ve seen in a long while).
Wow, I really love Cava!
On that note, I really like seeing your full look with the product. I feel like it gives a much better feel for how the product looks on a face as opposed to just seeing a swatch.

I love the shade of Cava. That’s my most comfortable color. I need to see this because I’m afraid that it might be too fragrant for me.

Cava is soooooo perfect!!!
Both of these colors are gorgeous and they are perfect shades for you. The price is a bit high for me at the moment but I’ll definitely keep an eye out around the holidays to see if they have a more affordable gift set so I can try the products. They sound right up my alley.
Are you wearing the Camera Ready BB Cream on your face? If you are it looks good!
Thanks but no, I was wearing a Laura Mercier cream foundation.
boo. these have carmine! So they may not test on animals but they use crushed insects for coloring. I refuse to put insects on my lips. Too bad because the colors are gorgeous.

Crushed insects? Wow, eww…I never knew that’s what carmine is. :S *Shivers*

These are georgous colours, totally suit you too! What is it about girl and nude makeup/polish? We’re always after that elusive perfect nude. I’d LOVE Cava myself but don’t ever see them coming to Australia
I absolutely love both of these colors on you!! I must check out Cava because I’m obsessed with nudes. Great post.
I have a couple of darker colored of Bite lip sticks and I love them. The one thing I’d say is that the Sephora swatches don’t seem accurate to me so I’d advise looking at online swatches and trying in store. Also watch out if you eat something oily with the dark colors on – they’ll bleed as they are so pigmented.
Are there any comparable shades/dupes to Cava? I really love the color but wondering if there might be some more affordable look-alikes. Can’t seem to google up an answer to that, I assume because the brand is so new/not very well known yet!
