Sheswai Lacquer Spring/Summer Collection Swatches & Review

Sheswai Lacquer Sheswai Lacquer Spring/Summer Collection Swatches & Review

Have you heard of Sheswai Lacquer yet? I reviewed them awhile back and now they have three new colors out for spring/summer.

Sheswai is big-3 free and the caps are made from sustainably harvested wood from family owned tree farms. In fact, they are the first ones in the industry to use this type of cap, reducing the need for plastic. Not only are they eco-conscious, the caps are really nice, and possibly my favorite ones from any brand!

Oh and did you see how pretty the design on the front of the bottle is?

Sheswai Lacquer 2 Sheswai Lacquer Spring/Summer Collection Swatches & Review

Sheswai Lacquer Babe Sheswai Lacquer Spring/Summer Collection Swatches & Review
Babe

Babe is a bright watermelon pink creme. This is a really pretty bright pink for summer, I think. I like the warmth it has to it. The formula was really nice and creamy, and it covered completely in two coats.

Sheswai Lacquer Stoked Sheswai Lacquer Spring/Summer Collection Swatches & Review
Stoked

Stoked is a medium turquoise creme. Really pretty color, and a little bit muted of a tone. I know I am going to get comparison questions so hang on, I will try and do a post soon on that! Great formula with this one also, and just two coats!

Availability: You can find Sheswai Lacquer at Anthropologie or their website.

Pricing: These are on the more expensive side at $16.00 each plus a $4.00 flat rate for shipping.

What do you think about these two shades? How do you like the caps? Are they worth the extra price to you?

  • I LOVE the caps and the way they reduce plastic use since I’m a recycling freak..however I’m not in love with the colors. I prefer stoked over babe but I don’t love it enough for $16…I’m going to check them out though and see if I can find something else I like! I’ve never heard of this company before, thanks!

  • Hmm I like their bottles but their colors are kinda boring and their too expensive for boring colors :l

  • I think they are too expensive for fairly boring colours.

  • I’m a big fan of the caps and design on the bottle! The two shades are really adorable as well, but it’s true that they’re on the more expensive side.

  • These are both totally gorgeous! But, they seem to be pretty dupeable, which makes them not worth the price for me.

  • The bottles are beautiful! The colors are nice too, but not unique enough for me to spend so much on them…

  • I love Babe thats so pretty and I love the bottles!

  • Even worse here in the UK. They’re £14 which equates to about $22 US at the moment. If the colours were more special it might be worth it, but as pretty as the cap is, I don’t think it’s worth that much.

  • I like both colors, and the bottles are pretty! I also like the eco-friendly aspect. However, the nice bottles does not really influence me since I keep my polish collection in plastic bins. If I only owned a few polishes and displayed them, I might be more interested in pretty bottles.

  • The bottles and caps are pretty but I don’t know if I’d consider the colors to be all that original or unique. With that said I’d have to choose options more readily available or less expensive, at least one of the two.

The packaging is very pretty, but the colors are like one I already have. I don’t think I’ll buy. I have a bunch of Butters on my list I need to get first.

Like the bottles, like the colors, but will likely buy some others over these due to the price.

    March 28, 2012
  • I won’t buy since the colors don’t call to me at all but I do love the bottles! The caps are really nice.

  • These are amazing! I love the cap- I’ve never seen anything like it before. And the label design is so pretty. I’m a huge fan of “Babe”, and have been craving a bright watermelon colour like it. I might have to splurge and go for it (partially, I admit, because of how beautiful the bottle it).

  • I love the packaging but the colors aren’t that exciting. I think you can find shades that are just as similar for way less.

Both are amazing shades…really saturated colors which I am loving this year. I don’t recall the name from your previous review. But soon as I looked at the bottles, I recall seeing those bamboo brush tops. A tish pricy for a trial – but when I put in an order with Apoth. next, maybe I will toss in one of this brand to test it’s wear on me.

  • I really like how different and environmentally-friendly the caps are. And the bottle design in general gets my attention. However, these polishes are pretty pricey, and the colours don’t stand out as much to me. But thanks for bringing this brand to my attention! :)

Interesting, but underwhelming. The tops look overlong too, or is that my imagination?

I’m loving the caps. The colors are pretty, but not unique enough for me to spend $16 per on them. Hopefully Sheswai Lacquer will keep it up and bring out some colors I absolutely can’t live without in the upcoming season releases.
