Jessica Witchy Wisteria vs. Zoya Tru

Happy Monday morning! I hope your weekend was a great one.

Today I’ve got two very similar new colors to compare. Jessica Witchy Wisteria from the Heavy Petal collection and Zoya Tru from the True collection.

Both of these are dark purples with a fiery red and gold shimmer. But are they exactly the same?

Zoya Tru is a deep purple with heavy red and gold shimmer. I use two coats for complete coverage.

Jessica Witchy Wisteria is a deep purple with heavy red and gold shimmer. Also two coats.

There are some differences, though very slight.

Witchy Wisteria is a darker purple slightly more eggplant and less royal purple  than Tru is. Also Witchy Wisteria’s shimmer seems a little warmer. Perhaps with some copper or some warmer gold. Tru’s shimmer also looks warm and has the fiery glow, but not quite the same if you look close.

Because Witchy Wisteria is a little darker, the shimmer doesn’t stand out quite as much as it does with Tru.

Verdict:

These are extremely similar and I would say for most people, owning both wouldn’t be necessary. Unless you are a purple fanatic, like me.

Winner:

For me Zoya Tru but just by a hair. I like the shimmer in Witchy Wisteria a little more, but I think it’s more obvious in Tru. And I like my shimmer to be obvious!

Which do you prefer or can you really spot the differences?

Both are pretty, but I can tell the difference! Personally I prefer Tru, because the golden shimmer stands out more, and golden shimmer just about never goes wrong in my book ;)

I’m with you … I like Tru a slight bit better because of the more obvious shimmer. It seems like this color is going to be so popular for spring. I feel like I’ve seen it in several collections already!

I think I also like the Zoya polish slightly more, but they’re close enough that I wouldn’t want to own both. :)

Pretty darn close! If you hadn’t pointed out the differences doubt I would have noticed them.

They look so similar, but I agree with you that I like that the shimmer in the Jessica polish because it stands out more.

I like the Zoya more, because I like my shimmer to be obvious, too. And I like the slightly lighter purple as opposed to the eggplant tone. Thank you for doing a comparison for us!

You should compare these to OPI’s Dutch Ya Just Love OPI? from the Holland collection, as well. It looks like it would be similar to both of these.

Wow, these two are so similar – good eye for pointing out the subtle differences! :) I like them both equally. I can’t choose a favourite.

This my sound truly strange, but I was wondering… Where are you from? ‘Cuz I need some advice :( I read that you’re English and I was thinking if you could help me by saying where can I find nail polishes in London, gorgeous nail polishes like those above *-*

      Hi Carol,

I CAN see the difference albeit tiny and I prefer the Zoya. But I ain’t getting no Zoya in the UK so I’ll pass.

Btw Kelly, has anyone mentioned anything about your site being slow to load? It’s only your pages and it happens whether I’m at work (PC) or home on my own Mac so I just wondered if you had had issues reported.

    It’s a bit of a nuisance.
