butter LONDON Spring/Summer 2012 Swatches

butter London Spring Summer 2012 butter LONDON Spring/Summer 2012 Swatches

Hallo!

butter LONDON (I don’t know why I am always compelled to write it the way they have it on their bottles) has a new spring/summer collection out featuring five new shades!

I checked out four of the five (the one missing is Slapper, a bright teal creme) and I really like them! Interesting colors, not very common and really good formula for all.

butter London Trout Pout butter LONDON Spring/Summer 2012 Swatches
Trout Pout

Trout Pout is a pale cantaloupe/coral creme. Honestly I didn’t think much of this one in the bottle but absolutely love it on my nails. It’s not pink, It’s not peach. It’s not orange. It’s not coral. It’s a perfect mix of them all and super spring-like and flattering. Great formula, just two coats. I adore it.

butter London Bossy Boots butter LONDON Spring/Summer 2012 Swatches
Bossy Boots

Bossy Boots is a soft pistachio green creme. Has a hint of putty to it. I love it. I love strange greens and weird neutrals. And while it’s an odd color, it’s not SO strange you can’t wear it. Great formula, just two coats.

butter London Disco Biscuit butter LONDON Spring/Summer 2012 Swatches
Disco Biscuit

Disco Biscuit is a warm fuchsia pink with iridescent glitter. Gorgeous! It is sheer, therefore you need at least three coats. but it builds up nicely, and it’s super pretty. I don’t normally like colors where there is nail see-through, but this one is fabulous.

butter London Knackered butter LONDON Spring/Summer 2012 Swatches
Knackered

Knackered is a soft lavender/pink with holographic micro glitter. Again, this is sheer so you might want to layer it. It does build up but you will still have nail see-through. The micro glitter does seem to maybe settle into the polish a bit so some of it looks a little “lumpy” in there.

butter London Knackered over black butter LONDON Spring/Summer 2012 Swatches
Knackered over black

Here you can see how cool it looks over another darker color. The purple really comes out and make it very rich looking.

Overall: Good strong collection. I really liked Trout Pout, Bossy Boots and Disco Biscuit the best, and I think if I had seen Slapper in person, I would have love it also.

Availability: butter LONDON or Zappos.

Pricing: $14.00.

What do you think about these ones? Which are your favorites here?

-Kelly

  • Knackered is nice. It reminds me of DL Wicked Game but with glitter. Thanks for sharing.

  • I love how you layer Knackered over black! I’m not a big fan of see- through nail polishes myself, but layered over black it’s a stunning shade! I like Bossy Boots too, though I’m not so sure a pastel creme would work for my skin tone.

I’d love to know how Trout Pout compares to Orly Pixy Stix which I bought after seeing it on you and love.

I have them all, including Slapper (my fav). Most of the online swatches of Slapper make it seem like a blue-ish turquiose-y color, but it’s really much more green irl.

I love layering Knackered over Slapper, and Disco Biscuit is very pretty over bright pink!

  • I absolutley love Bossy Boots. It’s kind of odd but still interesting color.

  • Trout Pout looks so good with your skin tone! I really want to try one of the many “peach-y” shades out thus season but, unfortunately, colors like that don’t look so hot on me.

Oh, man, I WANT this whole collection. I saw them all at Ulta and probably should’ve scooped them up then. Trout Pout has gotta happen. I like Bossy Boots, but feel like it’s going to look terrible on me. I think I like the name of Disco Biscuit more than the color (I am just OK with it and sheers are not normally my thing), and Knackered looks to me like a lot of other polishes (and again, the sheer issue, although it does look great over a dark color). So I guess I just figured it out…Trout Pout and Slapper for me! Thanks, Kelly, lol!

I’m wearing Trout Pout right now and I’m IN. LOVE. I love all coral/peach/melons but this is probably my favorite right now; it leans pink on me and I’m just DEAD with love.

I am loving Bossy Boots and Trout Pout! So pretty and just different enough that they aren’t like all the other colors out there. These may be my first Butter London polishes…

I rarely buy more than maybe 1 in a Butter collection. This one I have 3 and need to find Knackered when my pocketbook recovers a bit from being hit with a ream of unexpected bills. Like you, I really like Trout Pout. It’s very complimentary to my coloring when it’s on my nails – but maybe not quite bright enough come summer for my toes.

DB is a bit difficult to work with – mine is kind of stringy and sticky. I don’t want to add any thinner to it however. But the results are so much fun, I put up with the ick formula…which for me I run into with this brand off and on (Waity Katie – did I get a bad bottle or is it just difficult like DB too…and on and on with a # of other shades).

I don’t think these always are worth the middle level price tag and hope they don’t go up. I have to ask someone in the UK if they are cheaper there and we get gouged a tish in the states because it’s imported?

Oh and BTW – Slapper was the first purchase I made from this collection! It’s great and you do NEED to add it.

No such thing as a color so strange you can’t wear it. ;)

And I loove strange greens and weird neutrals also.

  • Thank you SO MUCH for showing a swatch of Knackered layered over black! I thought it looked really pretty in the bottle and was disappointed when I saw swatches around the web–I’m not a fan of super-sheer, shimmery colors. It just looked too princess-y and frosty. But I love the look over the black and will definitely add it to my list now!
