RGB Blonde on Blonde for Spring 2012 Swatches & Review

RGB Blonde on Blonde RGB Blonde on Blonde for Spring 2012 Swatches & Review

RBG Cosmetics and LA boutique TENOVERSIX have partnered together this spring for a limited edition nail color inspired by something very LA. The blonde bombshell. The color is called Blonde on Blonde and is named after a famous Bob Dylan album.

Both of the founders of TENOVERSIX are blondes and they wanted to create a color that matched their hair color. I can totally relate to all this blonde stuff because I was born a pale blonde and have pretty much been every single shade of blonde known to mankind. It’s the shade I always return to and looks the best on me.

Blonde on Blonde

Blonde on Blonde is a pale, milky blonde/nude sheer. It’s definitely not a white and not a classic nude. I think it looks pretty unique actually, and I wasn’t sure it would be from looking at the bottle. It is really sheer and does have some streaking issues. However, I actually like the way it looks after three coats. It’s enough contrast from my skin tone to stand out and not look matchy matchy. This is weird because normally I do not like sheers, but this one kind of makes me happy. Maybe it’s the name? icon wink RGB Blonde on Blonde for Spring 2012 Swatches & Review

Availability: Limited edition and only sold at the TENOVERSIX boutique in LA and their website.

How do you feel about these kind of sheer nude colors? Do you like lighter colors or prefer bright or dark ones?

  • This one looks stunning on you, Kelly! I prefer a slightly pinkish white when it comes to nudes (anything too pink makes my skin tone look dirty), so this one looks pretty promising! I normally wouldn’t go for a nude though. I prefer my purples, but nudes are great for weddings/formal occasions :)

  • I like this but it looks a bit hard to get even coverage with :-)

  • I kinda like it… I think the name more than the polish though, because while colour is cute I’m not a huge fan of streaky sheers.

I wonder how this compares to Illamasqua’s Load as they both bring similar thoughts to mind. Ahem. ;)

It’s okay, but I’m not rushing out to purchase it. It looks patchy and streaky to me. I think it’s just everyone’s personal preference…

  • Based on what it looks like in the bottle, I didn’t think that I would like it, but it looks great on you. Really pretty.

  • This is a pretty, light shade on you, Kelly! The only thing is that the formula looks streaky. I would just love it if they improved the formula!

I like the idea of it. Looks like a formula I would fight with, though. I prefer brights or vampies.

  • I NEED it! i´m all about sheer soft shades! I´m used to four coaters LOL! i love that it has a hint of yellow, which is very flattering for my warm skintone. And also looks gret on you! But for $16 I would expect an excellent formula :(
Dou you think it can compare to Illamasqua Load, but sheer?

  • That looks great on you! I am a fan of nude sheers, but I like wearing them opaque like how you wore Blonde on Blonde. Every now and then I get in the mood to wear light colors but I love brights and darks most :)

Too sheer & streaky. Not too fond of the color either. Can’t love them all but I try!
