Wet n Wild Color Icon Shimmer Singles for Spring 2012 Swatches & Review

Wet n Wild Coloricon Shimmer Singles

Wet n Wild has eight new Color Icon Shimmer Single Eyeshadows out and they are pretty goshdarn amazing.

Most of these shadows are shimmery (hence the name) but two have a matte texture. All have great payoff and are really nice colors.

Wet n Wild Coloricon Shimmer Singles Panther and Trashed

Wet n Wild Coloricon Shimmer Singles Platinum and Unplugges

Wet n Wild Coloricon Shimmer Singles Swatches 2
Unplugged, Platinum, Trashed, Panther

Unplugged is an icy sort of satin/matte white. Amazing payoff and no chalkiness whatsoever.

Platinum is a somewhat dusty silvery grey shimmer. It’s on the lighter side of silver, but still a good color.

Trashed is a jet black with silver glitter. Deep and dark!

Panther is a jet black matte. I was FULLY expecting this shadow to have horrible payoff and be a streaky chalky mess. But it’s truly amazing!

Wet n Wild Coloricon Shimmer Singles Stagedive Surf and Glamrock

Wet n Wild Coloricon Shimmer Singles Sellout and Golddigger

Wet n Wild Coloricon Shimmer Singles Swatches
Stagedive Surf, Glamrock, Sellout, Golddigger

Stagedive Surf is a medium vivid blue with silver shimmer. Beautiful and so spring-esque.

Glamrock is a medium lavender purple shimmer. Another great color, not as “crazy” as Stagedive Surf. More wearable.

Sellout is a medium shimmery pink. It’s not neon or too vivid or a weird pink, so I think easy to wear as well.

Golddigger is a great cool toned gold/yellow shimmer. Crazy soft and saturated and uber pretty.

Overall:

Totally impressed with all of these. I love these little singles because you can buy them ALL and not feel guilty because of the inexpensive price. You aren’t getting crappy un-saturated chalky shadows either. They are really great colors and totally worth checking out.

Availability: Drugstores soon!

Pricing: $1.99.

Now I wanna know which of these you are going to be trying out. Come on, there must be one or two! :)

My favorite matte black shadow is from the Wet n Wild Greed palette – it’s lovely & opaque. From the swatch, it looks like this single has the same formula, yay! So I’ll definitely try to pick that one up – I use matte black shadow to set my eyeliner, so I go through a lot of it.

Do you know if these are LE or permanent? I hope I can still find these around – I know I’ve seen some mostly-empty displays around, and I didn’t realize what a nice black that was.

    Thanks for the swatches!

The Wet and Wild Greed palette is currently my favorite. Very neutral, plus I got it when CVS was doing that clearance sale on their cosmetics a few weeks ago at 50% off so I think I paid $1.50 for it. Awesome for something I’ve been using practically every day because I can wear the colors to work.

I can never find any of the new Wet N Wild stuff where I live. I either get to the store too late or it’s not even there. I’m hoping I can find these because I love that matte black shadow and Golddigger.

    Thank you for the review!

It’s 1.99 each??? CRAZY! A good, matte black for that price is a steal! I also really love Glamrock and Golddigger :)

Most of these seem less like true shimmers and more like matte shadows with silver glitter in them, which is less my style. I’m not in need of a matte black shadow right now, but that one does seem nice and creamy. The white and grey also look like great affordable staples to keep in a collection.

Fun fact: The four latter colors have exactly the same colors as the Lush bath bombs featured in your side bar. :D

      Hi Irene,

OMG that is too cool! :)

  • January 30, 2012

The colours are not that great or unique. but that matte black seems like a really good buy!

Thanks for the swatches, these look amazing! Hopefully I can find some of these shadows near me. Love Stagedive Surf though I’m not sure I can pull it off.

I bought “Sellout” and “Golddigger” and LOVE them! They both came with mini black pencil liners too, which I surprisingly enjoyed as well. I love all of these and need to search for the rest of them now!

I want all of these shadows! I feel like I’m always waiting for Wet n Wild to realize they’re selling amazing products for dirt cheap, and suddenly shoot up their prices. They are always well worth the $0.99 – $5.00 spent on their products!

By the way – I checked out your Nail Gallery, and can I just say I LOVE that you made it possible to compare colors with just a couple easy clicks?! What a great idea!

Chrystal, I feel the same way! Keep waiting for the day that I go to the register to purchase my basket full of WnW and the prices have tripled! lol I’m hoping that day never comes. I’m hooked on their shadows and will get all of these if I can!

$1.99?! Count me in. I hope this is available in my neck of the woods. It’s really hit or miss here. Fingers crossed!

I think I saw these in Rite Aid today, paired with a mini eyeliner… none of them really wowed me, but I do enjoy your swatches!

I’d love to have them all. I just can’t buy any more shadows. I have so much. I wasn’t going to buy anymore makeup BUT, I just ordered the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. Just couldn’t resist it.

Wet N Wild is totally taking the beauty world by the throat. They are so affordable but they are totally chaning the quality of cheap make up and wearable colors. Everytime I’m in the drugstore, I def check out Wet N Wild, no questions asked!

I love how you can see the glitter in trashed! Yay! Any issues with staining? I think I already have too much WnW eyeshadow. Good stuff though!

I was hoping WnW would expand their single e/s color range. I love Brulee (which is an exact dupe for MAC Brule).

They have such awesome shadows! I bought a ton over the weekend! I got the matte palette and another comfort zone palette. The single shadows shown here are all really pretty!

It can be so hard to find a good matte black shadow and then WnW go put one out for under $2… crazy! I can’t wait till we get these here, at least I’m hoping we do. The only WnW polishes they’ve had in the BX here for the last year are the tv collection so they aren’t exactly great at keeping up with the new stuff *sigh*. Though I did manage to find the Comfort Zone palette a couple months ago :)

I just read your last blog, the one about mistakes that people make while blogging. Well, you need to take your own advice. Use spell check. In the ‘overall’ section of this blog you spelt the word ‘getting’ GETITNG. I guess what I am trying to say is stop trying to act like you are the queen of blogging. Because you my dear, are not.

    • January 31, 2012

      Hi Kim,

Have a GREAT day and thanks for your helpful advice!

Wet ‘n Wild is one of my favorite makeup companies. They break the barrier that just because they are inexpensive doesn’t mean that the quality is bad.

For many years, when I was younger, and poor, I could purchase something from Wet ‘n Wild and it would make me feel rich. Usually, it was lipstick. Way back then, I think they were just 99 cents. I could almost always afford that!
