Tarte Maracuja Divine Shine Lip Gloss for Spring 2012 Swatches & Review

Tarte Maracuja Divine Shine Lip Gloss

New from Tarte for spring 2012 are Maracuja Divine Shine Lip Glosses. And they come in the prettiest tube eva!

These glosses are infused with maracuja oil which helps reduce redness and irritation in the skin. They are have Vitamin E & A to help moisturize lips. They are pretty shiny and have a peppermint scent and (slight) taste.

There are 10 colors in total which include Adored (cotton candy), Dollface (pink grapefruit), Charmed (pale pink), Amused (hot pink), Blissful (warm peach), Glisten (peachy nude), Tipsy (coral), Blushing Bride (plummy rose), Flush (berry) and Natural Beauty (cherry red).

They come in a tube where you have to click the bottom about 27 million times before the product starts to flow. Kind of a pain at first but after the one time they’re easy to get out. The applicator is a soft synthetic brush.

Dollface, Glisten, Tipsy, Amused, Flush, Natural Beauty

Dollface is a very pale pink on me, with a whiteish tone to it. It settled into the lines in my lips, which isn’t my favorite thing on earth.

Glisten is a pretty pale peach, but again it settled into the lines. Not as bad though.

Tipsy is a very nice shimmery warm peach and one of my favorite ones.

Amused is a fun bright pink. Even though it settled into the lines also, I really love this pink on me.

Flush is a very flattering medium plum color.

Natural Beauty is a subdued cherry red. I hard a hard time getting this one even on my lips, just didn’t want to work with me.

I like these but don’t love them. Some of the brush wands were a little weird. One was super stiff, and one was completely curved. I think a little fine tuning could be done there. I liked all the shimmery colors a lot, but the other ones settled into my lips lines too much for my taste.

Availability: Tarte.

Pricing: $21.00 for 0.12 oz.

What do you think about these? Any you might be picking up?

The tube is SOOOOOO cute! I like Tipsy, but in general I think they’re a bit sheer.

      Hi Sunny,

Yep they are pretty sheer! I love the packaging also, it’s crazy cute.

  • January 23, 2012

Love the packaging but I don’t usually care for lip stuff with that kind of applicator so I’ll probably pass :(

  • January 23, 2012

the packaging is crazy cute! i’ll probably pass on them though because they’re too sheer and the colors don’t stand out enough to justify buying. plus, i can’t keep buying stuff because the packaging is cute lol

These sound like more trouble than they’re worth – but wow, natural beauty is really quite lovely!

Man, I used to love Tarte so much. Their single eyeshadows were my favorite EVER (and now I guess they only make palettes? lame). Don’t like the flowery tubes, don’t like that kind of applicator, the colors look bleh, most don’t look good on (with the exception of Tipsy and Flush), and for $21? No waaaaay. Their cheek stain stick is the only Tarte product I use now!

I hate those twist-click packages; it’s always either too little or too much product. I’d rather have a regular lipgloss tube any day. That said, the colors are really pretty!

Tipsy and Flush are nice, and the packaging is GORGEOUS. I wouldn’t pay $21 for it though.

I am so in love with the packaging… so in love. I do like Tipsy a lot, so maybe I’ll get just that one.. so I can have one. :)

These look so freaking cute but they don’t really seem worth the price, especially because they are not pigmented.

I really like the packaging but most of the colors are so sheer :(

Oh my gosh, those tubes are ridiculously cute. I’m not sure I love the finish or pigmentation on most of these though. : /

Gorgeous tubes! I like how the names match the blushes from the original group. I definitely need to try at least one of these.

  • January 23, 2012

Love the packaging! The applicator is a little of a downer though =( Tipsy looks absolutely awesome! Gives me a very sugary feel. Is it gritty though?

Gosh darn it, those tubes are amazing. I don’t really care for glosses though, so I’ll stick with the magical Tarte Lip Crayon/Pencil/Thingys… AMAZING. But dang… Tipsy looks fantastic!

    What a lovely packaging!

  • January 24, 2012

I don’t particularly like lip glosses but the tubes themselves are so cute that I might give these a chance!

Of all of these, Tipsy gets my vote. And, WOW, that packaging is so pretty it hurts!

  • January 24, 2012

If you get one w/ funky bristles, run the bristles under hot water for a minute or so (before you start clicking the gloss). Should fix the problem.

These look pretty, but yeah, sheer. :\ Sheer glosses make the baby Jesus cry. Although Natural Beauty is reeeeeeally gorgeous, there are some sheer ELF glosses that are much much cheaper and one of the reds is probably a dupe?

  • January 24, 2012

flush is pretty but not overwhelming. i don’t think i would pay that much though, but there are always sales and coupons!

  • January 24, 2012

These are such pretty glosses. I don’t care for the whiteish glosses. I don’t care for the brush too much. Don’t think I’ll go out of my way to buy these.

  • January 25, 2012

I like Flush the best, and would like Natural Beauty except for your aforementioned settling issue. I’m not a brush fan overall due to their tendency to get bent under the cap.
