Adored, Glisten, Buff, Frisky

Adored is a bright shimmery candy colored light pink.

Glisten is a shimmery peachy pink.

Buff is a shimmery light nude shade.

Frisky is a vivid shimmery coral.

Overall:

All of these are so pigmented and beautiful! I really love Glisten because it’s not too bright and a really kind of soft shade. Frisky is incredibly bright and really easy to over-do so take care when applying that one! Adored is a perfect light pink shade and Buff is a flattering pale nude. I thought it would either be too invisible on my skin or too brown but it’s actually quite nice.

The shimmery bits aren’t big or weird looking, lest you think you’ll wind up looking like a disco-ball. No one wants huge chunks of glitter all over their cheeks (especially if you’re over oh say 20…).

These really do last 12 hours. I put my makeup on at 5:20 AM and get home at 4:30 and they are still going strong! Good, good stuff.

Availability: Tarte (free shipping on orders $40.00 and more).

Pricing: $25.00 for 0.2 oz.

What do you think of their new spring colors? Are there any you want?

-Kelly

I have about 3 of these blushes. I got mine from QVC. They had some nice Tarte sets. The blushes I really love. I believe I saw some one on YouTube use Frisky. It’s really pretty on. You’d think it would be really dark but it wasn’t. Adored is really lovely.

    • Hi Michelle Miller,

You MUST get one and try it. Their blushes are really some of the very best there are in terms of color and how long they last. I love them.

These are so pretty and if they last 12 hours they’re definitely worth buying. I’ve never tried Tarte’s blushes but I may have to get Glisten.

    • Hi TyeDye64,

They definitely do! Great stuff. :)

  • Those looks so pretty!

I’m so annoyed that Tarte is so incredibly hard to find (allmost impossible) if you don’t live in the US. I’ve wanted to try some of the blushed for such a long time but just can’t find them even on eBay.

  • These 4 might just push me over the edge. I’ve been wanting to try these blushes as everyone who’s used them seems to think they’re beyond HG material! Glisten is a fast fave but I find I’m really curious to see what Buff would look like on me. I swear if Tarte comes up with something like the Danmari palette from NARS, I’ll be the first in line!

  • I wonder if Buff would almost work as a light bronzer for a fair skin tone?

    January 22, 2012
  • I’ve never used tarte blushes before…I’m almost done with my Nars so now’s a good time to try something new ;) I really like the looks of glisten and buff…here I go again…I really need to stop reading your blog…I cant afford to anymore :P

OMG, you will LOVE these blushes! I have 4 of them already! Use a light hand, and stay tuned for 12 hours worth of wear! They are truly worth every penny.

  • WOW, okay there goes $100 of my money on these. They are SO gorgeous! Thanks for the swatches and review. :)

  • Been wanting to try these for ages but could never justify the $25 price tag…Glisten is the obvious fav for me although I LOVE how bright Frisky is! Might have to bite the bullet…

  • I like Glisten! I’m happy they made this permanent. I own two Tarte blushes (Peaceful and Exposed. Blissful should make its way into my hands soon too). They’re incredibly pigmented and they don’t oxidize! However, they do tend to fade on me towards the end of the day. The only blushes I’ve tried that still hold on strong after 12 hours are Cargo ones, though they’re less pigmented (you can’t have it all).

  • I already have Glisten from one of the QVC Tarte “todays special value” sets. I will definitely be getting Frisky though, hahahaha!

  • Glisten looks like a very close sister to NARS Orgasm. I’ve heard that this is almost a universal shade. I have several other knock-offs and it really is beautiful.

Their older colors Tipsy and Blissful are pretty close to Orgasm, too- Tipsy being the more orangy-peach and Blissful being the more pinky-peach, depending on how Orgasm reads on your skintone.
But Glisten sure looks darn close! And these wear better than Nars, too…

Does anyone know how these compare to their older colors? Like: Adored vs Amused, Glisten vs Tipsy or Blissful, and Frisky vs Natural Beauty or Tipsy?
Is it just an addition of shimmer, or are the colors actually very different?
Buff vs Exposed would be good, too- but from what I see of Kelly’s swatch, they do appear to be pretty different colors.
    Or is that just me?
(No matter what, I love these and I want a new one!)

I fell in love with these when QVC released the first one in Glisten in a set for a TSV. The lasting power is so amazing. Glisten is still my fav shade. I like Blushing Bride but need a light hand. It’s not the same powdered as it was in the gel stick. I have about 5 shades of these. It’s knocked Nars off the shelf in my book.

So glad to know Tarte is adding Glisten to the regular line up of shades. It previously was a HTG on secondary market – though it was in a small form in a Sephora holiday gift collection set.

  • Tarte’s blushes last so well. They are incredibly pigmented. These 4 look like fabulous additions to their others.
